This always happens to me in ranked matches: I beat someone 3 times in a row and they keep coming into my match, so I switch to an alt and beat them 2-3 times till they finally beat me, then they stop coming into my room, sometimes followed my a retarded message. This happen to you guys?

seriously something that annoys me about gens, but kinda seems to be easier to deal with after you’ve seen it a while is the punishability of his waterfall kick. seems to have little recovery once he hits the ground and he can stay airborne just spamming it. you should get rewarded for baiting that shit, its annoying, same thing with ibuki’s ex srk thing, i guess you gotta focus the kunai after it?
you can punish waterfall kick if you’re waiting for it, he’s got plenty of ground recovery frames. No idea how to punish the ex srk + kunai though.
yea you can punish it but you have very few frames to punish it compared to other SRKs.

I might play Gen more once I’m remotely competent with someone else (Cammy, Adon, or Juri probally), the new cr.HP(mantis) is really nice, makes me miss the old st.MK a little bit less

He can only do one extra hit in the air unless he hits you as far as I’ve ever witnessed, where did you see a Gen just "spam it in the air"

For ibuki’s kunai followup I know shoryuken and Cammy spike work, anything with good anti-air hitbox will just hit the kunai out of the way
i never tried it, but come to think of it EX legs would probably beat the kunai followup.
Ex Legs? That would be ridiculous, seeing as where Ibuki throws the kunai from should be at Chun’s head rather than where the legs are. Then again, I don’t know enough about that move in terms of its invincibility. Also, I’ll throw in a second vote for what Tourou said on countering the kunai. You can jab those out of the way, so an SRK should do it.
I also agree with WarHippy about Smash Melee being the game to play as far as that series is concerned. I still prefer SF, but Melee is no slouch. Also, I hope people are up for stuff this weekend. Classes have me cornered right now. I actually have an exam in less than nine hours.

The only one I even would remotely respect that argument from is Tony because at least he will try and learn the matchup and use his character’s tools to win. But if you just want to not block or use any of the moves designed to counteract a basic strategy and then bitch about how the game engine and character are just “not fun” to play against, I’m sorry but that is some of the biggest scrub bullshit I ever heard. Contrary to whatever Daigo video you saw three years ago, mashing jab is NOT how you have to play against Blanka. Amazingly you can still actually use moves, mixups, rush down, and mind games. It sounds like all you want out of the game is mirror matches where it’s all about who can push the button faster. Fun.

I don’t understand your connection between us saying a matchup isn’t fun and us not knowing it, I mean I don’t even really have a main right now but I still try to get better with all my Cammy matchups when I’m playing her…I don’t begrudge people for thinking a character is fun, but I don’t think you can blame people for finding a match-up boring, I mean I tried not to get upset with “Gen’s Xups are too fast” this and “Gen players only win because noone knows the match-up” that but admittedly Blanka-hate is a lot more common in SF
