Let’s see. Wolverine is slower and his Berserker Slash is slower too.It also lost it’s invincibility. He also has a move that comes out when you mash :l:, which means that you can’t just mash it. PHX can only do one special in the air and then has to come down, and she has less health. Haggar’s assist doesn’t cause a hard knockdown anymore. Tron’s assist seems to get stuffed everytime someone uses it.Akuma’s Tatsu assist has been nerfed too if I can recall. All the herper derper assists have been toned down.
yeah I didn’t quite agree with bulldancer. he was on the right track but said something entirely incorrect. there’s so many ways to kill 100% 1 character…but killing more than 1 is pretty rare in top play. and definitely not as easy as mvc3 imo.

The funny thing is that Giants are ACTUALLY balance, and have reasonable weaknesses. Such they had a stun meter, you could bypass their hyper armor,resets don’t give Giants their hyper armor back, they have huge throw tech windows,etc. Hell it’s not even like fighting Gold Armor War Machine because Gold Armor War Machine had a extremely small hitbox…
Yet Gold Armor War Machine was never banned.

Was giants really not that bad? Cuz everyone I talked to made it sound like some GWM stuff. I guess it’s just new guy crying as usual.
My favorite part about GWM is people try to land hits on his hyper armor and then he just calls his armored assist and they fly away or get comboed.
Every game is gonna have a top tier and low tier, Wolvie and Phoenix may be gone but two more will likely take their place. Same goes for SF4 It went from Sagat to Guile(I think?) to Yun. It won’t stop people from picking Top tier cause they want to win.
They have bad match ups and teams that are designed to beat them but they’re as you would say “old and cheap” still. A PTX player took socal regional from marn even after counter picking.

That’s kind of the whole point of the topic. It’s to bring about one emotion if you don’t read it and another emotion if you do. Plus if you’re mad about him being called cheap and old by the time you finish reading it…he’s still cheap and old. He’s still not going to suddenly decide to pick weaker characters for you or lessen his techniques so you have more of a chance to win. He’s going to go hard with the cheapest stuff all the time because that’s what cheap old guys do.
Makes me wish we could have people banned for blatant stupidity or utter lack of grade-school level reading comprehension.

Good stuff with the MvC1 comparison DJ. Completely forgot about that garbage game. Thinking about it, this game actually IS more a sequel to MvC1 rather than MvC2.
And yeah, Hulk and Sentinel with no assists look really fucking good until people decide to block.
Noah making Top 48 shows just how bad the MvC3 community is. So many scrubs thinking they’re great because the game lets them do training mode combos off of 1-hit until they get stomped by someone that forces them to block and stop calling assists for a few seconds but they can’t because they’re part of the dumb ADD generation that demands instant gratification (in the case of FGs, that means “WHOO AIRDASH AND RUSHDOWN ALL DAY ERRY DAY”)
Old and cheap really have nothing to do with him winning. Any character in the game can be cheap its just devising a winning strategy that has 50/50 guesses in your advantage. I’m sure he has a million resets with Wesker and some we will probably never see. He won with wesker and hagger. All phoenix did was just to scare off people from blowing x-factor 1 and 2 against him. A lot of team strategies use xfactor lvl 1 and 2 especially in top 8 that wasnt a phoenix team.

Cant remember who said it but youre correct the new Wolverine Swiss Cheese is the smartest way to nerf a button masher that I have EVER seen. Also we should not be seeing any more phoenix players in tournaments probably ever. Think about it One air action less health and you can just steal her meter = completely free phoenix. The haggar and Tron Nerfs I saw coming and are needed. No way they should be that damn good. Wesker got nerfed also I forget what they did though I think its slower teleports and another health nerf. Akumas tatsu got nerfed. For whatever reason capcom decided Dante needed to be able to air dash twice and Triple Jump (insert Wtf here). From what they have shown currently I think Firebrand and Strider will be the new Herp and Derp with a side of Dr Doom being buffed into A or S tier.
Edited to add. Spider man will be considerably more dangerous also I hear hes much faster with his specials and has new properties.

In fairness, DevilJin’s post wasn’t excellently written and is confusing.
That’s like saying that people getting hit by cheap Tron shit early on in MvC2’s history show how bad the MvC2 community is/was. How about: they might not have seen that type of play before. It happens. One of the guys that lost to Noah said that very thing: he just hadn’t seen anybody doing that before, and it caught him off-guard. It happens, especially in the first year of a game’s release.
