I believe there will be. Look, I know there are advantages to PC gaming, even without owning a PC. But there is just too much of a huge market, especially for Sony and Nintendo, to ignore making consoles and tapping into that market. It may not make sense to you because you’re a PC guy. But that’s the way it is. If anything, streaming might eat into that market eventually, but I think we can all agree that streaming games is still a lot farther off than some of these companies would have people believe.

Yes, I mean MS has the bank and cloud structure to transition into future based on services and no hardware but for most of the last two decades Sony’s biggest money maker has been the PlayStation brand and their recent attempts to transition it such as their PS Vue have failed. Short of a massive collapse they will still make another console. Nintendo is even smaller then Sony, makes most of their funds from their consoles and have complete dominance of the world’s handheld market. Consoles are not going anywhere in the next decade. Aside from content two of the three major players are not built to survive without hardware.

by the middle of next gen we’ll prob have an better idea of how things are looking. everyone is looking out for a triple a sort of collapse which would hurt the space as a whole since most people still by consoles for madden.2k,etc. but i can’t honestly say such a collapse would bother me since all my favorite devs are already thuggin on a budget.

I don’t even give a shit if they make a PS6 or Xbox after next gen. I don’t even think they need a PS5 or next Xbox right now.
And if a new console doesn’t come after, games will continue to be made for the current consoles. I mean you have hundreds of millions of potential customers in the current console market.
Whether there will be a “next” console on the horizon is completely irrelevant. Games will always be made on current consoles because companies like money. And there will always be a “current” console.

everyone thinking that riot fighter is gonna force arc systems and namco to get their shit together but i think its really only gonna cut into capcom or snk’s more grounded fighter audience because i highly doubt that game plays like an anime fighter.
We don’t “need” any of that. It’s just nice to haves. Consoles haven’t been keeping up with the current tech as long as I can remember. You need a high end PC for that.
Hell the general public thinks Netflix 4k is real 4k. The general public is stupid and ignorant of a lot of technology and they don’t even care.
But my main point is I would be just fine if no new consoles were even on the horizon. All of this new tech you talk about means nothing to me when we just keep getting COD 15 and Halo 12 along with HD remakes of games that were already in HD.

hell yeah… I was still on 2-cell on my XB1 version of Dead Cells so I just beat that a few minutes ago… such an awesome run there; made it to the Throne Room without using a healing flask at all; Survival build of course. I had 25 points on it with 4 in Brutality and only 3 in Tactics… colorless S-rank Quick Bow! That was a hell of a good find right there that was my main thing the whole way thru, even though I later got a Legendary Giantkiller sword(!!!)… the critical on Giantkiller Sword was ridiculous… ended up at 35,000+ per hit on critical…
I also had the “Tonic” S-rank version…also colorless. When Hand of the King did his slow motion jump to slam down attack…BOOM I hit that tonic (drank my Gummi Beary Juice!) and just no-sold all that shit with my temporary Invincibility…in that moment that bitch’s fate was sealed. The colorless bow had a +100% damage to poison AND it poisons with each hit…the damage was just disgusting…and hell yeah I made a clip of that.
…that’s one thing I’ve been loving ever since it was invented…I forgot which system first had the “save clip” feature but I use that shit all the time, man. Anyway; on xbox you can see the stats on the achievement of course… so only 0.61% of people that play this have beat 2-cell.

Idk I feel like GBFV kinda has what Riot fighters wanted with cooldowns. Riot fighter might be a more basic version.
Riot will probably have the best online infrastructure though and put all the japanese devs to shame.
