Because I dont want shit to accidentally spill here and suddenly get a bunch of tantrums about the lack of moderation.
The title of the other thread directly states that there will be spoilers inbound, and this being a general purpose thread, the talk falls into the umbrella of this thread. plus we are not talking specifically about the game, but the controversy that has surrunded it.
Reallyā¦wow. I didnāt realize that. Everything I saw only mentioned The Uncharted franchise.
Letās be honest though, if weāre talking about the controversy, or pretty much whatever about the game and thereās a thread for it, we should move it there.
I get that this is a general VG thread, but Perth isnāt asking for anything unreasonable.
All I am saying is that disliking a game for things that have nothing to do with the game is dumb in my eyes. To each their own.
You can dislike a company for various reasons and not purchase a game because of your view of the company and not support them, but that doesnāt mean a game is bad or anything.
Those people trying to return an open game must be new to gaming.
YES
Please
At least they were rationale about it. I mean I laughed at it, but the streamer stopping the game, pulling out both game discs, and cutting them in half is stupid. You already gave them your money.
The thing is that i know the people playing the game would prefer to not have to deal with the shitstirm and be left alone, so it woud be better to leave that here, and let them have their āsafespaceā to enjoy the game while we meme the shit of it here.
They are feeding into the expectations of their audience.
It was expected to happen by someone at some point.
The Twitch streamer probability made 10 times that money back in that one stream.
Not just with games but I see this stupid mindset in sports. Itās like, if you really want to hurt them, sell your copy to someone else so they donāt buy a new one.
Fucking Heca beat me to the Arcana Heart steam code.
Whereās thst banhammer at?
Streamers, ytubers and other reactors from social media are expected to overreact.
He very likelydid it for the ciews and not necessarily because it was he feeled that moment.
I have not claimed it yet.
I can pass it to you if you really want it.
I agree, they are pandering to their audience.
They see from the chat feed what their audience wants and do what they can to keep that audience and make that audience grow. And if that means snapping a disc mid game or even smashing a console mid game (while itās operational).
They will do it if it nets them notoriety, which gets then attention, thus more money.
People change but that doesnāt mean they suddenly lose the knowledge they had.
I can buy Joel regaining his humanity from his relationship with Ellie. I canāt buy him suddenly losing all of his know how in understanding how bandits work, the danger of giving out his name, etc. There was a VERY specific scene in the first game where they encounter bandits on the road and Joel is completely prepared for the situation BECAUSE heās been on the other side. Heās not someone that gets taken by surprise much or letās his guard down much.
It was supposed to be the opposite. We leave the non-spoiler stuff here and go meme freely on the TLOU2 thread with people that already know the story.
But I got informed that Spoiler Tagging is a GD rule, Perth changed the thread title and I had to put a bigass warning about it.
No, seriously.
So now weāre all discussing it in the general thread while the TLOU2 thread is almost empty (and worse, with almost no memes. )
Mod came in, told us to take that shit to the proper place. I dunno about you, but I donāt wanna get clapped out of stupidity
like half of the gameās cast.
Disney putting their foot down in regards to EAās handling of Star Wars is continuing to pay off.
GamesBeat: What do you remember most now about The Last of Us?
Hennig: I didnāt work on it, since I was working on Uncharted at the same time. What I remember most about all the projects is how we just crunched, and it got worse with every project. It was weird for me because I was always in the midst of it myself. It was odd being on Uncharted and not being on The Last of Us and being able to objectively watch people crunching and seeing the effect it was having.
