Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

That isn’t a theory though, that much is already stated in game.

I haven’t noticed. I personally think the game looks great. Even if it lacks in some graphical areas I don’t really mind or care

I only mean artistically.

This. NRS’s fighters actually do look nice from a cinematic standpoint. However, they all have this issue where they don’t light their characters separate from the stage. This is fine if your game doesn’t really use dark lighting (see Tekken or SC) that hides the characters. The problem with NRS is that they do like to use lighting like that. You get these really dark stages where characters get covered in shadow.

The lobbies from Xrd, DBFZ and Granblue Fantasy Versus are fucking great and should become the standard going forward.
That being said.
The Strive one is a huge pile of shit (i saw my brother play with the codes i was give for since i am an admin on the fan latin american community), they are trying to cram the functionality of the other lobbies on a 2d space and removing the agency of how you start a match.

Not that i care because i would never touch that shit, but if they want to have an appice of chance of this game not tanking they need to rework that garbage.

It’s coming up on 7 years later now. GTA V continues to be up there as if it was just released yesterday. Apparently it’s sitting on at least 120 million sales.

Oddly enough I didn’t consider this element of the mix until now— Twitch. I’m thinking surely its prevalence on there may also have been a factor in keeping relevance for the game all this time. I’m guessing it’s still probably one of the most viewed games there…which helps drive interest from new players. (I am admittedly out of the loop as of late— I haven’t even checked out twitch in several months now. )

Later, in the era of the PS9 and XB8; sales figure for around March of the year 2040… GTA V: Remastered Edition is the #1 again, obviously.

You are aware that there are multiple reasons why a company could not implement rollback beyod hurr durr, they refuse it because dumb meme reasons.

For starters, Rollback is not a magical solution that just because is there it will work.
It requires a know how to, and the game kinda needs to be tailored for it from the start in both mechanics and how the game is programmed.

Strive netcode isnt being developed in house, is being made by Zinac, so that alone tells you one possible reason.

Add that what people kept asking for years wasnt rollback, but GGPO, a netcode that required a liscene not so long ago to have it inplemented, and has the particularity that works great for games like SF3 which was the one was modeled for originaly, but tends to require more work to be implemented n other games if there are more interaction predictions that could potentially add more rollback calls if missed.
It is why many fan implementation projects failed, since it is not an easy task to make it work when the game is not designed from the ground around it.

And last, believe it or not, outside the FGC rollback is NOT liked that much, since it can feel like you are being robbed from good plays when a rollback happens and cancels something good you did.

Bad infrastructure problems will still exists, and most of the time you are trading a different type of unplayable for another.

I am, so I’m not sure why you feel the need to give me this re-education. The point is I’d like to have rollback netcode and basic, intuitive matchmaking functions (like invites) so I don’t have to constantly coordinate a room, lobby and number just to meet for a couple sets. I’m not even close to the only person who’s felt this way about it, I’m not sure why you’d even try to imply I am.

X/X-2 is physical if you buy the Asia version. It has the same localization as the English version but it’s on 32GB cart instead of 16GB one. So both game are fully on the cartridge. It’s the version I have. Same deal with VII/VIII. The area version has the English localization and is all on the cartridge. Given current events, the delivery is far longer than usual, but I use PlayAsia to get some Switch titles. When buy a physical copy, I actually want my game on the cartridge.

I know it is. That’s what I said.

You just repeated what I said but in a much more long winded manner

My bad man. When cutting back expenses for my furlough, I forgot to pay attention. All jokes aside, my reading comprehension is has been ass lately. I did the same thing the a few days ago. Sorry man. I need to get my shit together.

On the bright side, I’ve been able to dig into my back log. Didn’t realize it was so late. It’s damn near 4am. I’ve been playing the shit out of The Outer Worlds today…erm yesterday…well you know what I mean.

I mentioned it earlier but I got an email from Walmart today telling me that my copy of trials of mana (Switch) got prices matched so they’re refunding me basically $10. So that’s cool.

I used a gift card that I got for refunded the extra copy of Yakuza collection I got. So I treated myself to a $35 digital eShop card. After the gift card amount and employee discount (I get 10% if i buy the digital currency for iTunes/PSN/eShop as an emailed code) I spent less than $15.

So. Good shit all around

I like how you went on a tangent on a point i didnt made in my post, lmao.

I give you that they need to implement an invite functionality for when you are on private rooms, but outside of that, their Xrd and GBFVS lobby systems are excellent.
DBFZ suffers from the fact that a priavter room is impossible on that one like ont the other 2, so that is kind of a downgrade in that regard.

Neat…hope the sequel isn’t far behind.

Got this and 1945 on my wish list.

Glad now this game getting some major respect, the US release titled as Mobile Light Force game for the PS1 and it put Shikigami No Shiro which is an unrelated game as Mobile Light Force 2 for the PS2 is downright disrespectful. Good thing XS games is now Defunct.

Look what theses fuckers did at XS games

The game was released in North America as Mobile Light Force for the PlayStation. All in-game plot in this version, including the game’s ending, was removed and character names were changed to those of XS Games employees. The game featured a Charlie’s Angels -style cover picture, completely unrelated to the original characters or the game’s theme. The original’s fan art gallery was also removed from the game, although the directories are still intact on the disc if inserted into a PC.

Why retitle the game, then give cover art that has Zero to do with the game, then butcher the game story?

Good thing more people can Experience Gunbird for what it suposed to be.
I Hope Treasure follows suit and put Radiant Silvergun on Steam as well

Ah, the good ol’ times where different regions could literally have games to have the same foundation but then be completely changed in their other aspects. Thank god we’re way past that bullshit and global releases are now mostly identical outside of minor differences for the sake of censorship
