prob won’t be an overworld. im thinking ffx style fast travel with highwind and a linear map with more worldbuilding just like this first game. of course it will be easier to discuss the 2nd game once people start to finish this one.
Honestly, the entire segment of wheelchair Cloud as Tifa explores his mind and memories doesn’t have to be playable, it could instead be a long exposition dump, before Cloud eventually comes back into the action
Aight, since I haven’t made myself clear - all the segments in Cosmo Canyon are big chunks of lore and dialogue, it doesn’t offer anything interesting gameplay-wise. Hence, instead of building upon and expanding the location, the events that take place in it can instead be made into really long cutscenes
most likely getting to cosmo canyon is going to take 3 hours if its paced like the remake. thats why i think no world map instead time for skyword sword everything is a dungeon including getting to the dungeon. the lore dump is your reward for getting to the canyon.
it’s hard to discuss the future chapters because of spoilers. everyone in the thread who’s interested seems to be making solid progress tho. personally i was one of those people on the fence until the spoilers hit then i knew i had to see if they were true.
I’m going to hold reservation of excitement on this because RE4 is one of the top games ever made even by people who don’t even really play RE for real. I’m extremely optimistic and I hope it lives up but after watching the ball get dropped on Nemesis I have to hold myself back (I know REmake 3 is still a good game but that game could have and should have been better). Shinji being involved is weird since he’s with Tango Softworks and by proxy Bethesda…wondering how that’s going to work.
Edit: Ok so Shinji isn’t involved really he just gave his blessing and gave advice…hmmmmm…
Edit 2: also this is just rumor currently so I’ll wait for something more concrete.
You could argue RE-0 still looks good enough to not need remake, but then here is RE4, and it definitely does NOT need a remake. Anything can happen now (A Dino Crisis game that picks up where part 2 left off, please)
