Fun fact: Alex Wesker is the final unlockable Mastermind in Resistence.
Eh, I think you could write her into the spotlight. Promote her to a task force commander for the BSAA or something, then she can pretty much go or do whatever she wants. Might be interesting to explore a “Chris went missing here” kind or story, similar to what Chris did for Jill in 5. Maybe that’s a bit played out of a plot but, I’m just brainstorming here.
I really need to go back and play the Revelations games again. Those are the only two RE games I haven’t played through more than once. I haven’t played Rev1 since the 3DS version, christ.
I’ve never had issues with the left analog being where it is. It’s never bothered me and never will. Adjusting from it to the switch pro controller isn’t an issue for me either.
I think the DualSense controller is ugly as shit tho. It’s right side button mapping is so far apart and gross.
I would definitely argue the touchpad “worked” for PS4. There was only one game that used it for anything neat and that was Astro Bot. Other than that, I don’t recall ever using it in a game. Why they are doubling down on that is mind boggling.
Also, making the glowing blue light now be on top of the controller and pointing up towards your face instead of in front of the controller, seems like an odd design choice. Even the bright ass blue light on the front of the controller is extremely annoying when I’m playing in my home theater and the game is in a dark scene. It glows too bright.
I dig the weird little color scheme, and I second moving the light back to where it originally was. Other than that, the actual features sound good (Better triggers, better battery, less weight, slight increase in size)
After reading the playstation blog on the features I’m optimistic. Supposedly they kept in mind the battery life this time around when making the thing and it also sounds like they’re trying to make their own attempt at HD rumble. Battery life was the main thing I was most concerned with since even my wife gets annoyed at how often she has to switch controllers while she’s playing or watching media through it. The battery life for the DS4 is inexcusable.
I like the fact that the controllers have a built in mic for quick convo, I think that’s a really good design choice. I’m also interested in how the triggers feel since it sounds like they’re going to give more immersion feedback similiar to what Xbox seX is doing with their controllers. I don’t see anything in the article about the speaker or if the controller retains is motion. Personally like the speaker when devs actually use it creatively like when your character’s cell phone rings a la GTAV or a character is being talked to through an earpiece or something. Or they just do something cool audio wise with it like Shadow of War with the creepy whispers. Motion was and has always been horribly utilized on Sony’s console and I really don’t know why they at least give the base a choice for FPS. The only game apparently that does this is Doom 64 (found out through the DF retro vid), that’s a shame to me.
Edit: the touchpad is also horribly utilized on most games on this console. I almost think they shouldn’t even bother having it be a 'touch’pad and just have it as the extra buttons that just about every dev uses it for. Probably the best application the touchpad has been used for has been for messaging and even then it’s kinda eh. If they’re gonna put this in again and have the thing take up even more real estate on the controller then I’d like them to give it a reason to be there that isn’t forced.
I get the feeling many ppl hate the controller already cuz of the color and not the actual look of it. Sony should just made it all black although I personally like it😂
