I’m going to wait for Nioh 2 to go on sale. I never finished the first game and I got enough on plate already with Icebourne, Zero/ZX collection and Granblue. Something gonna give.

Nioh 2 is a day one must have for me. The beta is so fuckin good. I’m considering even downloading the first game again just to scratch the itch until it comes out.
I really hope the end game is tweaked in this one. With OG Nioh you had all these extra NG+ modes that just stacked on top of each other in terms of difficulty. By the time you got to Way of The Demon (NG+ 2) pretty much everything one shots you and enemy health bars are fucking bonkers. To the point where it severely limited the types of builds you could play. The Phoenix spirit was pretty much a must have at that point. I had a friend who literally made his build around fighting with 1 point of health left. He would get all these crazy damage bonuses for fighting at near death, and use various spells to tank one or two hits to keep from dying like substitution jutsu, Phoenix spirit, ect. It seemed like if you weren’t playing in a fashion similar to this, there was almost no point.
I actually never started the last two DLC chapters for this game… maybe I’ll check them out.

I tried doing that with the first game and I stopped playing it to focus on Nier Automata. Haven’t gone back since. Same thing is liable to happen if I do that with Nioh 2.
Nah you just needed to add quick change if you were a light build. You never needed Suzaku. And if you were heavy you still had ways to build for defense. Not saying it wasn’t crazy but if anything the high damage equalized a lot of builds.
In any case the devs have specifically talked about DLC difficulties and said they wouldn’t go quite as crazy this time, so it should be more reasonable. And in the beta/demo, if you look at the set bonuses they’re not as crazy as they used to be either, same with the special effects on armor. I’m guessing they’re trying to limit player power so they don’t have to go as crazy with enemy buffing to answer player builds getting out of control

And honestly, I’m super on the fence when it comes to 7R and Last of Us until we hear more about the PS5. I just have a really hard time supporting a system at the end of its life cycle

If you got any Nioh channels/videos I should know about, especially regarding end game builds, by all means I’d love to see them. I love Phoenix but I’m always willing to see how people can make the other spirits/builds work.
I never used the Phoenix spirit much in Nioh. I almost exclusively used Kara-Jishi.
On the Nioh subject, thought about doing another play through before 2. Turns out I already got plat, lmao. I’ll just wait for the new one.

I don’t know of any particular channels but if you have a mic I can go over the basics. Honestly most of it is just using the in game set bonuses and learning what the good special effects are and how they work n stuff
Also I recall Suzaku not being that good after LW nerfs…

Yep. LW builds got nerfed hard and Suzaku was a part of that basically. There’s a lot of other good GSs depending on the build but Kato was the best general melee with Kara Jishi being the slightly more defensive general use one

Glad X is getting the love it deserves. I feel IV and IX deserve to be above VI and VII though.

FFVI is my favorite, and I’d love a complete remake of it, sans random encounters.
FFIV already got a remake, too.

I like 10 but having it above 4 and 9 is crazy to me.
10 as the number juan period is crazy to me.
