Finished the Devil Killers side story in Yakuza 5, then immediately went to the end of Kiryu’s story where it switches off to the next character. It was the perfect 1-2 in story beats, imo. Seeing that side story resolved was hilarious and bro-teary with a nod into the sunset.

Kiryu setting an example in the main was dope was fuck and just sooo~ meaty. Giant Swing is just too good :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Was hoping to pace myself as I expected to still be on Yakuza 4, if not just finishing the Yakuza 3 by now, but I can’t put this shit down. The best part is, there’s still sub-stories to do in this and all the other titles, and I still have to Yakuza 6 to finish.

So glad SEGA gave this series another shot outside of Asia.

Wonder if we’ll get the Samurai games once Yakuza 7 is released here?

Finally, the game I have literally been waiting for.

Finished DOOM Eternal. Steam says I spent 11 hours playing it, but that doesn’t include the time I tabbed out to look at stupid stuff, so I think it realistically took me somewhere between 9-10 hours or so.

I won’t spoiler anything, but I will say the last level was fucking insane. It felt like the old DOOM games with all the crap on screen(just like how DOOM 3 felt a lot like the older DOOM games with the Hell levels.)

There were 2-3 Hell knights on screen at once, multiple Pinky demons, Imps, Revenants, almost every single enemy type at once. I had to BFG them off the screen to get some breathing room. I went into the last level with TEN lives and I ended it with like 3 or 4, the firefights before the final boss were batshit crazy and it was more difficult to get through the level itself than it was to axe the final boss, haha.

Great game. I want to play some of the Master Missions and honestly, I kind of want to revisit DOOM 2016. If I don’t I think I’ll bust open my copy of Vanquish+Bayo, I’d like to revisit those titles since it’s been so long.

Animal Crossing has sold more in its opening week than any other Switch game in Japan. The switch also sold the most units in Japan during that week

I posted this in the Switch thread as well but Nintendo has closed all repair centers in the US until further notice

https://youtu.be/yh2-X8mWeP0?t=355 Timestamped a Duke Begins concept from Gearbox. It…actually looks really cool, but since it’s Gearbox they didn’t do anything with it.

Did not know some of this

That bit about the chainsaw is mindblowing to me. Seriously this is the guy you denied from helping with the MK OST NRS?

That still pisses me off, even though I never really cared for background music in MK games. I’m really curious to know how Mick would treat MK. If you’ve seen interviews with him, he seems to go 10 toes into a project, in a way he doesn’t get the same stuff twice. Yeah, he’s mainly rock, but the KI 2016 soundtrack (which he also did up to a point) had a wide variety to it.

I thought the reason most people decided on the external drives myself included was cause they were cheaper and have alot o more storage for the money not because they were easier to install besides with such a fast SSD on the ps5 you probably won’t need that much space but I dunno. Xbxsx solution doesn’t help much either when they’re using proprietary drives which probably need huge installs.

Proprietary hardware always cost more than universal standards. Memory cards for the Vita cost way more than your standard SD card. I see Xbox memory storage solution going the same way.

Everything about both consoles just screams “expensive”.

Microsoft might take an L to not make the Series X financially unviable, but these custom SSDs will likely not have the same treatment and will be expensive as all hell.

While Sony and Microsoft keep trying to out-Vergil each other, the GOAT keeps making that bread. :triumph:

Forgot how batshit insane this game was.

This vid made me dust off my ps2 and my copy of the game, lol.

Every vtuber is playing it, or getting ready to play it, lol.

Nintendo usually purposely avoids competition so their IP’s and unique takes on hardware shine. Sometimes the latter doesn’t always work out well though. cries in Wii U

It’s more too it than that. It’s kind of a perfect storm situation.

  • The Switch is heading towards being Nintendo’s most successful console of all time.
  • There hasn’t been a true Animal crossing sequel in almost a decade (new leaf came out in 2012) so it was a heavily anticipated title. My work got over 200 copies to put out on Friday. I started my shift that day at 10am and We were completely sold out when I went to lunch at 2pm.
  • Animal Crossing has a huge “casual appeal”. My sister who next to never games but has a switch asked me to tell her everything I know about AC. Once I told her what it was she went out and bought it. She’s been playing it whenever she can.
  • For better or for worse covid-19 is turning everyone into a gamer lol. Switch’s have been selling out everyone at Brick and mortar stores as well as e-commerce sites.
