You’re definitely not the only one. I don’t know how you could even think that, being a member on this website so long. SRK particularly has always voiced their disdain for NRS games and their animation style.
Ill give MK its props tho, it’s come along way from how it used to be, I used to could not stand playing them back in the day now they’re atleast decent
And when it comes to presentation, guest characters and sheer content, MK is near the top. NRS put alot of love into their games and it shows
Since MKvDC (politics and money issues be damned the game had potential) NRS has been on a roll, imo. Them and Tekken are the only games in the FGC I even follow anymore really. Everything is either boring to watch/play to me, flat out bad or both.
I would like if every defensive and offensive mechanic wasn’t associated with meter use. Seriously, why do rolls, air recovery and fucking wake up need meter to use?
You know, I’ve always been able to understand people thinking the games feel too janky due to the animations, but I’ve never understood the blatant hate. NRS gives their playerbase everything they could ever want, and more.
You’ve got in game frame data, all the training options you could want, ROLLBACK NETCODE, healthy roster sizes on launch, sick DLC characters, an full arsenal of quality single player content for casuals, incredibly detailed and great looking stages and models, the list goes on and on.
Look, MK ain’t even in my top 5 fighting game franchises probably, but I do enjoy the games a ton and I certainly appreciate how much love and attention to detail they put into making a fully fledged, quality, functioning fighting game.
How many games don’t even have in game move data?
How many games still use delay-based netcodes?
How many games ship out with tiny rosters meant to be filled out by DLC?
How many games come out with horrible load times, netcode issues, bugs and issues littered throughout?
I don’t have to worry about any of that shit with NRS games. Say what you will about their animation style or how the game feels good or bad to you, we can go back and forth on that all day just like with any other game. But I will always stand by NRS in the sense that they set out to make quality fighters, and in more ways than not, they usually do.
Akuma always getting chained down. He’s too strong bro. Think about it.
Way too dumb in ST.
Strong AF in Alpha 3.
So strong in 3rd Strike that they couldn’t give him EX moves. /kappa
Remained top 5 in Ultra, even during the last days of it.
Hilariously top tier in V until the nerfs.
Hilariously top tier in Tekken 7. Until the nerfs.
This toolkit was bonkers from day 1. His whole design is meant to be the antethesis to the shoto playstyle because it breaks all the rules. That’s why he’s such a fucking awesome character.
He usually takes damage like a bitch tho, you’d think that would be enough nerf. One solid combo and he’s done but he has hella tools for just about every situation
Oh yeah. Especially true in 3S. I think he has the least health he’s ever had in that. It’s seriously get caught in 1 & 1/2 combos from Makoto and you die.
