Nah, neither Cell or Bardock were problems really, they were actually weaker than what gt goku was ( and i dont think gt goku was problem either)
They were strong but not dominant.
Plus it was more that they were preferred in tournaments than them making other chars useless.
You know how it is, the game could be really balanced, but at tournament level you will only see a handful number of chars being pick because the meta and their perceived strengths.
Btw, with all the balance changes, they basically have left bardock and cell the same, with very small changes.
Buffing mostly weaker chars by direct changes or system changes that nerf stuff like the snap back meta.
I would say that of all fgs out there, only sfv, t7 and mk11 do balance changes that are like you mentioned earlier.
Other games do it in a more intelligent manner (not that i always agree with all the changes though)

You know very well how much i hate the nrs bad animations.
So believe me when i say that this MK, has tje best animations the studio has made so far.
Outside few chars that suck ass to look at(geras, jackie, terminator) most of the cast looks great with only 1 or 2 animations that look jankie.
They can still improve and have some problems, but is no longer an eyesore.
That said.
I hate that they reused the horrible fatality/brutality mk vs dc startup animation on spawn for one of his specials.
God damn it’s nice to see Marvel’s first family back home where they belong.
Included in the Shadow of Doom Update are alt skins for the first family and VICTOR VON DOOM!

Yeah, but 2 out of 3, especially considering the 2 consoles I’m mentioning are the Wii and Switch, some of the best selling consoles ever, is pretty good.
Dipping out of the console wars did wonders for them and they put out some excellent exclusives like BotW, so I’m happy to see that their effort to make good games pay off.

Breath of the Wild isn’t an exclusive. It was a dual release for Wii U/Switch like Twlight Princess was for GC/Wii. I still agree though.
It’s not even like the Wii U’s library was bad. All the must own titles from it save a handful are now on the switch and all of them are various degrees of awesome to amazing.
It’s just that the systems marketing was horrible. I have friends back home in Seattle and here in Arkansas that are still confused on what the Wii U even was.
The hardware was dumb as shit to program for too. Not Sega Saturn levels but same energy.
Both are Nintendo consoles tho. It’s a Nintendo exclusive.

He’s cool in a vacuum, he doesn’t even need a backstory. And his backstory is more or less just “bad guy” so it doesn’t remove from the cool.

This come from someone who actually likes the games.
As i see it, is the combination of jankie animations, the really weird way that negative edge and input buffer works in the game making the way it plays and feels, feel wrong.
The way that nrs always makes the game mechanics and systems in a unorthodox way that feel is done more in a way to be different than because they actually put any rational though on it.
Like for example, there is no reason why the defensive mechanics need meter to be done, or for the combo breaker to be restricted to be done at at peak of the juggling height, which varies from attack to attack.
Or how instead of making all the metered options use one single button, you have to use 2 ones since they tried to justify the unnecessary turn around button existance by making the defensive tools use it.
Or how they keep making their games be hybrids between 2d and 3d on how you play them, by making everything be canned strings.
Which imo, works against the games, because if a char ends with few strings and all of them suck, then that char will be forever bad.
We have seen it happen with chars like the joker on inj1, sheeva on mk9 for example.
I think that their games have a lot, and i mean a lot of stuff that can be a turn off for anyone.
Yes they have hight production values, and actually have implemented stuff that players want.
But at the end of the day their games are just more polished versions of Omen of Sorrow. LOL.
Side note.
I think that their stories suck
They are nice to watch, but man, they are written terribly.

I think is a shame, because imo, this gen has a lot of great games that are both fun to play and watch.
UNIClr, GGXrd Rev2, BBCF (yes i count Rev2 and CF as part of this gen), BBTAG, DOA6, SC6, GBFVS, SamSho and Million Arthur Arcana Blood.
I actually think is a shame that MAAB didnt made states side outside PC, since that game is surprisingly fun, easily the best game Examu has made.
Funny enough, i like playing MK11 and Tekken 7, but i fucking hate watching them, i get bored easily, dunno why.
With MK11 i think is because Geras was used heavily at the beginning the same with Jackie and i hate how both chars look in motion.
But with Tekken is a mistery, lol.
