Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

lol 500 dollars for a console. Might as well save up for a big ol’ PC.

I think the fat PS3 retailed for $599.99.

Yup. That was for the 60gb version.

Isn’t the 1X still like, 500?

Yep, and it was a massive clusterduck because of it. At aome point they gotta realize that once you cross the 399 threshold, peoplestart questioning their purchases.

If the PS5 really is backwards compatible with everything then at least you’ll have stuff to play. But 499 for a glorified emulator box is still hella wxpensive.

Hopefully it has a 4K BD Player built in. That’s one of the main reasons that kept me from getting the PS4 Pro.

Gley Lancer is getting a reissue for Mega Drive this June.

If they would at least not give us the lowest reading speed drive 2X they wouldn’t have to rely on installs so much. Is it too much to ask for 4X?

It’s time once again to resume my 3rd legend of dragoon playthrough. This time I’ll finally do gust of wind dance!

I recently restarted Bloodborne for the umpteenth time. I’m trying to refine my old build into a pure skill build, but I’m not sure if I should sink five levels into Bloodtinge for Ludwig’s Rifle or put those into Endurance, hit that 40, and stick with the blunderbuss. The differences are fairly slight, I know, but maybe that little extra range and damage on Ludwig’s saves my ass one day.

That video was exciting until I realized it’s from Capcom UK.

Ranger does good damage, is fun as hell to play and insanely mobile(especially if you ascend to a Deadeye.) You get literally 100’s of %% of movement speed to stack and then you zip around like a crackhead. “Blink Arrow” paired with Faster Projectiles+Faster Attacks is literally an instant teleportation move you can use to get around obstacles, combined with your insane run speed you will get around fast as hell. Only downside is that rangers are really squishy.

If you’re going to stick with a Ranger be sure to go with one of the Chaos-based skills like Toxic Rain. They’re the kings right now. I recommend making a Shadow —> Trickster since they are top tier this league. Shit, you can even use bows as one(or any class, you can turn any class into whatever you want pretty much.)

Shadow --> Trickster is top tier
Witch --> Occultist is top tier
Marauder --> Juggernaut is still really strong. I recommend any of those 3 over a ranger right now, mainly because melee/rangers scale well with good gear whereas casters scale the most with their gem(skill) levels. Still try whatever you think looks fun because you will most likely fuck up your first few characters where you’ll hit a wall when it comes to “end-game.” At that point you’ll want to make a new character or rebuild your current one.

Beginner tips: 3-linked items with all 3 colors(blue, red green) will sell for 1 Chromatic Orb. 6 socketed items sell for 7 jeweler orbs to vendors. 1 of each item type unidentified that’s under item level 75 will sell for 2 chaos orbs, 2 regal orbs if they’re above item level 75. This might not make much sense now, but it helps a ton when it comes to making currency.

Games install fully this gen on PS4/Xbone as a DRM measure and as a way to use the disc drive as little as possible.

How demanding is that game to run on a pc? My girlfriend plays it to no end but all I have is a craptop that barely runs Overwatch.

The game is on PS4 and Xbone as well. Your girlfriend has good taste in games. :joy:

I’ve said it before but if you like the Souls series/Bloodborne I’m 99% sure you’d enjoy Path of Exile as well. The game has an amazing atmosphere, the story and world itself is really interesting(if you’re into that sort of thing in your vidja gaemz) the music and sound design is great and the gameplay so goddamn fun. It’s endlessly replayable too, I have something like 2000+ hours played on Steam(lol) and this doesn’t factor in the time I spent with the stand alone launcher that doesn’t require Steam.

^ The build that will give you a seizure

^ Another cool build

Basically once your gear/skills/passive tree comes together a bit, you turn into Speedy Gonzales. I can’t go back to a lot of older ARPG’s because of how slow the gameplay/movement is compared to PoE. It’s like Diablo II on 5555555555555 star Hyper Fighting speed or some shit.
