Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

I love VII still. That game is fantastic and packed with content.

Game is packed with an absolute amount of bullshit time wasters.

Got to the last boss of the RPS game. Got crazy high scores on the roller coaster and a bunch of other games. Bodied the arena spot by doing the mime glitch inside of it for shits and giggles. Had a stable full of gold chocobos. Had 2 sets of Master Materia (grinded one in the final dungeon by feeding that one numbnuts elixirs for the extra AP).

Only thing I could never do was get Yuffieā€™s joke weapon. For w/e reason I always missed the timing on the Condor reactor missions.

Yeah, stupid side games and in RPGs.

I never even finished FFVII. Only FF I ever finished was IX. IX is my favorite.

Iā€™m probably the only one who is looking forward to getting FF:CC on Switch

Honestly I was kind of hype because i might actually be able to get some people to play it with me.

Iā€™ve never played Crystal Chronicles. Probably because I donā€™t really like multiplayer/online games all the much. It looks fine. Just not my bag.

FF7 is THE reason I donā€™t like RPGā€™s anymore to this day. Shit just took way too damn long in that game and it completely turned me off of RPGā€™s.

Yuffie, Cid, Fort Condor Missions and, the Materia system.

Thatā€™s all that I like about 7, really.

All I really want out of Square, anymore, is a completely remastered remake of FF6.

It doesnā€™t needs go all gauche HD gayness like 15.

Keep it ā€œlow keyā€ awesome - make it 2D, and make the sprites replicas of Amanoā€™s artwork, or at the least reasonable facsimiles thereof, and we are good.

Bonus points for additional dungeons, items, Down-able Leo, and such.

Yep, the Game Boy Color game was a early Indy game back when making a legit cart for the mass market by a Indie dev was unheard of. And Way forwards just been tearing it up since.

No, I donā€™t. It never looks like when they do this.
Look at Final Fantasy 4 Remake for Steam, it looks like ass.

Get Guacamelee and donā€™t look back. If you enjoy the first one, get the second.

That was nothing LIKE a remaster in Amanoā€™s image.

That was ā€œPortable console limitations, letā€™s go with FF7 Demo on N64 caliber 3D.ā€

A true remaster of FF6 would be Godlike.

Guacamelee is also a great Metroidvania. Havenā€™t played the second one though. Iā€™ll pick up the physical edition 1+2 bundle when it drops next month (or is it June? I donā€™t remember)

Get the sequel if you enjoyed the platforming. Lots of clever parts to it but I can see them being frustrating to a lot of people.

They really expanded the tits out of chicken powers though. So you get to do a lot of really cool stuff in the game.

It comes out end of May. Just checked on Amazon. I got back to work beginning of June so Iā€™ll likely pick it up with my first paycheck back.

Itā€™s been a while since I played 1 on PS4 so Iā€™ll probs play through it again before tackling 2

Also @hawkingbird (lol sorry I keep tagging you in shit)
If youā€™re wanting to get peach ball itā€™s also preorderable now through amazon. Iā€™m going to cancel my preorder through XSeeds site so I donā€™t have to pay $8 for shipping that I donā€™t even know the speed of.

Edit: manā€¦amazon has some senran Kagura peach splash statues up for preorder and manā€¦

If I get them people will never believe I play the games, read the manga or watch the animeā€™s for the plot.

My favorite thing about FFVII isnā€™t the game itself. I think its ass, but it proved that JRPGs could sell in the west with proper marketing. So I was able to play a variety of JRPGs that wouldnā€™t have been available otherwise. So while I think the game itā€™s trash, Iā€™m glad it was made.

Been playing a bit with the Huntress in Risk of Rain 2. Game is addicting.

Didnā€™t Chrono Trigger do well? Or was it not that big of a hit as far as sales go at the time?

Because itā€™s a better game than FFVII by several orders of magnitude.

I mean, plenty of RPGā€™s that were popular in the 8-Bit and 16-bit era. I grew up with Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, FFIV, SMRPG, Earthbound etc. (I didnā€™t play FF6 until my late teens. I wasnā€™t too impressed)

I honestly donā€™t even remember the marketing for 7 or anything leading up to its release. I just remember playing it and being like ā€œthis is it?ā€ the majority of the time. I learned to like a few of the characters and I really liked the materia system helped reshape an admittedly tiresome turn based system. But I finished it for the sake of finishing it.

I tried playing it recently on the switch and itā€™s aged horribly. In pretty much every regard. Materia system is still ace though. :+1:

As to why I bought it on the Switch? Iā€™m simply a slave to square and I like supporting them. Cause if one game gets support there is a chance another game in that series or another series gets support.

Iā€™d be so happy if they released the PSP version of FFIV+The After Years on the Switch. Same with the Nintendo DS version of Chrono Trigger.

Game looks badass, Iā€™m definitely buying that one. Thanks man!

I got a few games for my birthday a couple weeks ago and one of them was Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood which is a VR rail shooter. I love rail shooters anyway but VR? Forget it, Iā€™m there. Iā€™m totally about the VR thing, itā€™s so fucking awesome when itā€™s done well and Iā€™m really glad thereā€™s so much support for PSVR. Anyway, I finally booted it up tonight after finishing DMC5 and man is it fun, especially with the motion controls. If you have PSVR and youre into that sort of thing definitely give this one a look, itā€™s a lot of fun!
