Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

Please show me multiple videos of these guys down-backing for 98 seconds in games and then throwing out a random attack with 1 second left.

This guy might be Reptile’s replacement as the jobber.

ah, someone echoing my commentary once again…

…and…is Sekiro really another game that requires a connection?!? If that’s the case that makes absolutely nooooo goddamn sense…it is a single player game only, right? What in THE fucking hell, man…

*and yes, I am sure there’s some idiot son of a bitch in the comments on that vid that posts the snarky bullshit “uhhh you never owned your games, dude.”… I should look for it to have a good laugh…

I dont have to be online to play Sekiro. Of course I pirated the damn game. I’ll pay for it when its on sale for 20 bucks or so.

I have it on PC and I don’t need to be online to play it.

ah, ok…I see others saying the same thing about Sekiro—so apparently the guy who made the vid probably didn’t have his XB1 set as the “Home”, I guess? I think that’s most likely what is causing his issue with needing to be online to play it then.

ohhh and there’s a lot of imbeciles in the comments of that vid I see there parroting the same shit “you never did own them, lol”
Really? So…who owns those cartridges and CDs I still have from so many years ago? Would they really be in their legal right to enter my home and confiscate it? No, you little shit. I guess no one owns their car or couch, house, towels or jeans, silverware, etc. either right? Nah nobody in the history of the consumer/merchant relationship ever owned anything. Yeah THAT makes sense.

This is why the future of this industry is doomed…because most people are stupid enough to go along with anything, even revising the definition of what “ownership” actually means and then pretending for some asinine reason it’s always been that way. …fucking dunce-cap ass motherfuckers… their very existence raises my damn blood pressure. Jesus H. Christ, man…

Well yeah, don’t know if i posted it on SRK, but End User License Agreements are the most anti-consumer thing imaginable. In the case of physical media, when you hold it, you basically only have a right to play the music and make a copy for yourself. Almost every other use is subject to some law telling you to go EAD.

They’re also not legally binding, in a lot of places wherein common sense and decency are still at play (re: not America), and they’re PROBABLY not legal, strictly speaking, even here in America, but the corporations run amok, and really, what is legal here anymore is whatever the rich tell the politicians to pass, regardless of whether it flies in the faces of The Constitution or its intent… and good luck getting those illegal veneers removed from atop the heartwood foundation.

You should see the shit John Deere tried to pull with their tractors, saying that people who buy them only have a “license for life” to use them.

Oh yeah, they went as far as to put DRM into their mechanical parts.
The lawsuits for that were ugly too.

This is a direct violation of the First Sale Doctrine

The first sale doctrine , codified at 17 U.S.C. § 109, provides that an individual who knowingly purchases a copy of a copyrighted work from the copyright holder receives the right to sell, display or otherwise dispose of that particular copy, notwithstanding the interests of the copyright owner.

The digital future is a direct assault upon it.

At some point this conversation will bring Po back to SRK. And then he’ll be like “hurr durr I told you guys about some shit and fuck capcom and all that” to then go play Pokemon or some bullshit.

I don’t know, SRK ranks have slowly been growing. all of the old faces keep showing up because they tried to worship the false gods of twitter and discord.

The flames of Grandeur Destruction will burn hot once again.

What we really need and it’s not happening is for the FTC and the DoJ to put every single device and equipment and automotive manufactures, software developers, software publisher, movie and tv studios, and all the various electronic/digital media on official notice that the First Sale Doctrine will be respected.

The FTC did it with “Do not remove” warranty labels are illegal and in violation of the 1975 Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act

well, this has been interesting… I probably should’ve started over with Quantum Break but I eventually remembered what was going on and picked up where I left off…it was early in the story anyway… I should definitely take more time off to get caught up on some games backlog again… that was not the original purpose of this little vacation but I figured it would be a perfect time to play some recent stuff I never finished.

…oddly enough you can still get the full episode pack of the live action segments for this game… I wasn’t expecting them to still be available but I’m getting that now. It won’t stream anymore so I guess they have to be downloaded now…it’s huge too (heh that’s what she said)— 75.6 GB…this is on top of the game itself, btw…which was something like 40 or 50 GBs I think…fortunately I have plenty of space now with an external drive. In the live-action parts, I noticed that gorgeous girl from True Blood is in this… she played the governor’s daughter in one of the later seasons.
