Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

But mah inclusion But I want to experience the story I just can’t git gud

I knew the industry was fucked the moment peeps were crying bout beating Crash Bandicoot. Shit exposed peeps.

You can stop now, sweetie. I’m done taking the bait.

Cutting the wait time by half is better than nothing. The exclusivity is still sour for me.

That’s good, guess I get the game next spring

Hm. GameStop has preorders back up for GOTYE. Doesn’t ship until the 15th though.

Also means I have to shop at GameStop.

Do I really want it that bad?

Edit: Nvm. Already sold out, apparently. Wouldn’t let me add it to my cart.

Damn.

No 4K though.

I have both the Steam version and the PS4 one, so I’m just sayin’.

I dont even own a PS4 so I dont need the PS4 version. Doubt I’ll even install it on Steam. I just looked after reading Stu’s post and noticed it was in my library.

Wow. Finally got it to add to my cart on the desktop website but I’m not going to get it. Here’s why:

Summary

GameStop can go fuck themselves.

It has nothing to do with hardcore gamers. It’s about playing a game as intended. If the kotaku guy wants an easy mode he should play a game that has one. Often the games that people like him complain are hard is often do to their own incompetence and nothing to do with the game. They want the game to make up for their shortcomings.

Yeah. The “difficulty” in a lot of games today are self imposed due to the player not wanting to pay attention, being impatient, being lazy or just thinking you can steam roll through a game with little to no strategy.

I’ll link to my post earlier about this.

We also discussed how certain games are gear towards certain demographics. They have absolutely no reason to cater to someone outside of that demographic if they don’t want to. If said player wants to play said game under that demographics umbrella, than they need to learn and understand why the game is made the way it is. Not cry “this game is too hard” when they can’t play it in a way they’re use to

Also, let me be clear on something: changing up a way a game is played or presented is absolutely fine. Especially when done well like Mega Man X evolving from Original Mega Man. Or Mario Bros to Super Mario World. But changing how a game is played entirely or changing its identity to cater to a broader audience is usually met with justifiable backlash. Because in the people within that demographic, the company is alienating them and what brought them to the game in order to bring in more money. Sometimes something as simple as giving the game difficulty settings can be alienating to the core demographic of the game.

With that said: Yes, people should want companies and the content the produce to make money so they can make more of said content. But how they go about it can leave a lasting impression.

IE; All the exclusivity deals Epic Game Store is doing in an attempt to fuck over Steam.

What the fuck Kotaku guy are you on about? Did something happen that I didn’t catch?

Yes. I posted a Kotaku article about Sekiro lacking a easy mode and the writer problem with it. It’s what sparked this discussion.

The developers should just troll them and make all the enemies stand in place, turn toward players and swing/shoot once every 5 seconds. Maybe that will fit their definition of fun.

I just posted like 4 or 5 paragraphs just last night, in this very thread explaining why these games don’t have easy modes and none of my explination had anything to do with bragging rights.

Do you read the thread or just drive by post whatever your fingers can vomit up onto the screen to give you a pleasure boost?

I could do the same thing.

“I’ve never seen anyone asking for an easy mode that wasn’t a weak willed loser who crumbles at the first sign of real confrontation and isn’t an entitled brat who thinks everything should be made to cator specifically to them.”

But then if I posted such a thing I might sound like a fucking moron for tossing large swaths of people under the bus based on anecdotal evidence.

That second one, mostly. Sorry I don’t keep my finger on the pulse of your enthralling monologues. I’m too busy actually playing video games to absorb every half-baked hot take from every cookie cutter pretentious nerd boy.

Stop. You’re on the losing side of this. I don’t want this to turn into another Samus being eliminated from battle poll meltdown.

You haven’t posted one shred of evidence to support you’re reasoning. All you’ve done is post juvenile shit and buzzwords.

I just took a shit that’s more solid than the soap box you’re trying to stand on.

This isn’t a competition and I’m not at a fucking pulpit. Don’t bring up shit that happened a goddamn decade ago in an attempt to hurt my feelings. You’re better than that. I’m envious of your ironclad poo, though; there’s been a stomach bug going around Torrington and I’m not enjoying it.

The don’t fucking comment if you’re not going to read the conversation asshole.
