Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

Sorry if this was discussed earlier, but it seems Wolfenstein Youngblood is only $30 new.

Is it a really short game? I dont think Ive ever seen a fullly new game be sold at that initial price unless its a port of an older game or something.

Megaman 11 just released last year for 30ā€¦

Just saying.

Young blood is suppose to be a standalone expansion to Wolfenstein 2.

It is.

And maybe. I dunno. I hate shopping at GameStop. Iā€™ve aired my grievances about them and their inner workings as a former employee several times. I donā€™t want to support that kind of behavior. Even with feeing bad and genuinely sympathetic for the employees (especially the entry level employees or as they call them ā€œGame Advisers) but I know none of the money I spend truly goes to them. Just goes to District and Regional Managers who get bonuses for no real reason. They do none of the leg work but get rewarded like their entire district or region rests on their shoulders.

Anyways, got a little side tracked. Someone put a soap box in front of me. Lol.

I just hate buying games digitally. Especially when they have a price tag that high. Iā€™ll make exceptions if the digital sale is exceptionally good. Like for instance I got Batman: Return to Arkham and Arkham Knight Under $10 during PS4ā€™s last major digital sale.

And with Nintendo Switch I got sonic mania w/ plus dlc for less than 20. Got I am Setsuna and Lost Sphere for over half off as well. Theyā€™re both normally $50 and I got them both under $20 each. Among others.

Those kind of deals I canā€™t ignore. My cap for digital games is $20. Any higher than that I wait for a sale.

Iā€™ve gotten to where I like buying digital better. I have a ton of old game sitting around and digital doesnā€™t contribute to that for me. Plus if I want to remote play something I donā€™t have to worry about it being in the console.

Iā€™m seeing thumbnails for YouTube videos and keeping in mind that is is April 1st. I remember EGMā€™s April Fools gags from back in the day. I ALMOST bought Sonic and Tails being in Melee until I say the date on the doctored screen shot: April 1.

But we did get Akuma from an EGM April Fools so, that was cool. Capcom should make Akuma in Resident Evil 2 real so we can Raging Demon Mr. X. And it probably wouldnā€™t even faze him.

No Akuma in RE2 remake is a dropped ball. But they already got trolled into making Akuma.

Dont know if they can handle dealing with being made do that too.

Similar to you, I exclusively buy on disc games unless they are on sale digitally and its not something that I want to keep.

Throwing Dante in there would be even better.

Put spaces between your part of the post and the quote, then it will format properly.

This forum software is fucking trash.

You canā€™t dance or do anything worthwhile while listening to that. It puts people to sleep and sounds like it was produced by a weak set of lungs. There are a lot of cover songs by Frank Sinatra that miss the mark, but this is not one of them.

Ive been all digital for nearly a decade now. Even before I lost everything I had gotten rid of all my physical media. I had it all in digital form, why keep the physical shit? Gave all that shit to my ex wifeā€™s brother.

I never resold or traded in my games so most of them just sat in the TV stand. Now I dont have shit like that takinā€™ up space and collecting dust.

Yeah I would never ever buy a physical ā€œfullā€ game for $60. The only way I would is if it simply isnā€™t available in disc format, but that has never been the case yet. The most I paid for a digital game is $30, which was Moss, and that is because that was the only way to get it at launch. Now there is a physical version, but that is because of the success it had.

I paid $10 more to get a physical version of Dead Cells on Switch. It was $35 and digital was $25 at the time.

I also tend to game with multiple friends and every month or so we all meet at someoneā€™s house and everyone brings games that we play. With digital that would mean Iā€™d have to bring the whole damn console just to play some games, but with physical I donā€™t have that issue. We also sometimes let each other borrow games. Physical helps for that too.

I donā€™t fucking care if you canā€™t dance to it.

That version is beautiful.

I like Frankā€™s version better.

Very few people, bands, groups can make a cover truly their own. Sinatra did that a lot to great success.

Same with Killswitch Engages cover of Dioā€™s ā€œHoly Diverā€

I know two different sides of the musical spectrum but the point why Iā€™m saying it is the same.

Coheed and Cambria has also done it with several songs like ā€œHelloā€ from Adele, ā€œUnder the Milky Way tonightā€ by The Church and ā€œSomeone I use to knowā€ by GOTYE

Oh, Alien Ant Farm did it with smooth criminal too. Too bad they are actually a fucking awful band.

Johnny Cash song ā€œHurtā€ is a cover of a song done by Nine Itch Nails. I personally think Cash made it his own.
