Similar to GameStop (or any retailer really) those companies buy space in Best Buy’s store. More money = more space. More space = more exposure. More exposure = more $$$$
Yeah I notice Best Buy ended their gamer options on their store credit program.
Yeah GS as a whole always gets a bad rap around here but of people can find a store where the employees give a shit and are knowledgeable they’d easily have a better time. The unfortunate thing is that since GS is retail they care more about your selling skills and less about your knowledge and I’ve seen plenty of people like that. Any store I ever worked at I always tried to set an example through my actions without talking about it. I did have to care about my numbers but I cared more about the customer trusting me which usually always paid off in the long run and usually everyone in the store would always ask me about what looked good coming out or about a game that they’ve never even heard of before.
I’m not a fan of what GS is doing but if you have any sort of business sense and you know what GS makes on sales of games then you’d get it.
Nani? They still take video games in trade. They just ended their gamers club unlocked deal.
Which is stupid because knowledge in product can equate to more selling of product. Especially with hardware purchases and attachments
Yeah, I’m hoping the game section last through next year. My GCU should still active in time for next-gen from the twins (Sony for me) so maybe the game section will have more games then, even with digital having a bigger impact by then?
That what I am talking about.
The Anthem Report…
Ok, the Elysian chests are terrible most of the time, man… it’s commendable that they at least tried adding this concept, but you just get crap most people don’t care about out of it anyway (textures, vinyls and emotes…and PARTS. Of all things to put in there… PARTS? Are they kidding with that?!! That’s just regular junk you find off harvest spots in freeplay mode, man)… and I suspect that some or most of the creatives behind the scenes wanted to have armor packs be in there too, but a “suit” probably said no to that because that’s the real deal shit people want and might pay real money for later on (*if they don’t have enough in-game currency and are impatient; why give it away when you could sell that shit, right?). Most of the time the rewards screen at the end just glitches out anyway and you can’t even see whatever bullshit you just got.
The core gameplay continues to be fun though… I changed over to Interceptor recently and holy shit it’s like I’m playing a different game here. The speed and agility is RIDICULOUS with this one…
- -dashing that goes further than the other javelins that are capable of it (haha Colossus the God can’t dash…might be his only “weakness”)
- -not only that…you get TRIPLE dashing if you simply hold the button down. Dashes can also be done in mid-air of course.
- -TRIPLE jumps, bruh.
- -Interceptor’s “barrel roll” appears to go further than the others.
- -your slashes are so goddamn strong, you’re better off just doing that most of the time instead of shooting things.
- -you can melee out of flight then cancel that with a dash then go back to flying…then melee, dash cancel fly again.
- Spark-dash, folks…it’s SO good and it looks cool (you “charge up” for a brief moment then zoom over to an enemy super-fast; if they are primed the resulting combo hit here is devastating); I doubt I will ever be able to give that up for anything else.
My colossus says hello.
I haven’t gone back to Anthem since before the first patch dropped, but now I may go back and do that.
Mega Drive (Genesis) Mini looking real nice. 40 games. Japan is getting Rent-a-Hero for it, and I hope we get it state side. I’m guessing Vampire Killer is Bloodlines here in the U.S.? Sept.9, 2019 world wide release.
Link to stream
PS4 is getting New Sakura Wars. Probably won’t be localized…
Sadly I should of expect this. Pity too is the best Sega series no one ever plays in the West.
Sakura Wars is that massive robot crossover game right?
You’re thinking of Super Robo Taisen
M2 is doing the emulation for Genesis mini! This is now a Day One. I’ll be pre-ordering as soon as they go up.
Wish I jumped on the SNES mini. Hopefully Nintendo will put those up again. Would’ve been cool to have them side by side
Really pumped about M2’s involvement
Yuzo Koshiro is doing new music for the menu of the Genesis Mini.
They have a Saturn display with a giant controller. I’ll be asleep by the time they get to AGES presentation.
Hoping for Saturn news, Shin Yakuza trailer, and more AGES announcements.
I can almost guarantee the clamoring to get this mini-console will not effect anyone from getting their hands on it. Most people just don’t care about Sega anymore. Most people just know SEGA as “thats the company that owns sonic, right?”. Yeah, there are fans of Yakuza which is fine. But that is a super niche series. Most people I know don’t even realize Sega published. Bayo.
My point is Sega does not have the main stream appeal it use to. And it hasn’t for a while. A long while. Like, even before Dreamcast and probably before the Saturn too. Only the true die hards and people who can’t take off rose tinted glasses still follow them.
Not to mention every haphazard and beyond lazy genesis collection consoles they’ve made in the past. So people will be wary of another Genesis collection system. Game selection is a huge factor too. It’s one of the many reasons the PSOne classic crashed and burned. It’s game selection was fucking awful
It’s cool your excited but don’t get too overly excited or optimistic. Being let down by lazy ports, lack of a game selection, the wrong versions…etc will just be that much worse.
Not trying to rain on your parade. Not saying don’t be excited or happy about it. Just saying slow your roll.
Yuzo Koshiro is doing the menu music for the Genesis Mini.
Do we know what games are coming with the Genesis mini yet?
Sakura Wars coming to the U.S. Spring 2020. Not my cup of tea, but the trailer looked cool. I’ll be grabbing it.
Pre-order for Genesis mini just makes sure I have it in case of low order numbers. FOMO is too real, lol. M2 emulation is a god send. We’ll be able to switch regions on the games that were released in multiple territories as well.
I’m guessing AGES releases slowed down because of Genesis mini? I’ll be double dipping of the titles listed on the system if they make their way to the Switch. I wonder if we’ll get the Gunstar Heroes beta that was released in GH collection back on the PS2?
Only 10 games listed so far. Originally supposed to be 30, but they bumped it up to 40.
Games so far

No word on other regions as of yet. So stuff like Rent-a-Hero probably won’t make it, but who knows.
People care enough about a Genesis/MD mini-console that there was backlash when Sega was partnering with AtGames for their initial attempt a couple of years back. This new one with M2 is a direct response to that.
M2 is the main reason I’m as excited for this as I am. Hands down the best company when it comes to preserving and handling classics.
