They just realized that?..come on almost every location in botw is a reference…smh.
Random PS4 deals going on at GameStop right now. Depending on how long the sale lasts I might pick up Borderlands GotYE Edition and the Persona bundle when I get paid on Wednesday.
My guess why they’re doing this is try to really push sales before Amazon gets all the money again with Prime Days.

sheeeittttt, the Switch lineup never stops, folks… so now I’m looking at possibly Sol Seraph on 7/10 (just mildly interested with that one)… for sure Blazing Chrome on the 11th…and God Eater 3(!!!) on the 12th…but just a week later on the 19th is the big one-- Marvel Ultimate Alliance Goddamn 3.
it’s not even fair to compare past portable systems to this…this is the champion. I have over 42 games on it at this point.
Some of those sales I posted last night/early this morning are also going on at Amazon. Just in case you don’t want to give GameStop your money. Here are some links to them and a few more.
Target is also having a digital sale of sorts. 10% off all digital codes.
Celebrating the fact that it’s 2019 and we got new fighting games where this is viable.
from what I’ve been told on a few discords I frequent that have dedicated channels to the game, stay far far away from The Division 2 on PS4. Apparently shit’s mad broke on there, and Ubisoft/Massive aren’t taking the time to fix it. XBox and PC are fair game though, because I’ve got those (I paid $100 each for the gold editions on each platform).
Also,
might be alone here because its an older game but im playing the evil within 1 on ps3. is it just me or is this game shit. careful, efficient play is officially encouraged but then later penalized because there is no space to carry anything. unless you spend points upgrading inventory space, but then what was the point of being efficient with resources in the first place. the game even tells you to use matches to “destroy bodies completely” making you think there is some crimson head type shit in the game, buts its just a false instruction and a waste of a resource. stupid as hell.
its not like the game is fun either. im only on chapter 6 but it feels like ive spent hours on this shit game. ive played lots of REs and none of them were as annoying as this. please tell me this gets better because i dont like leaving things unfinished.
@Gaijinblaze The thing with matches is that if you burn a corpse near other alive enemies, it will burn them as well for free kill(s) saving you a ton of resources.
Upgrade the crossbow. It’s the most broken weapon in the game. One attack works like a flashbang, and when you upgrade it, you can use it and “stealth kill” like 5-6 enemies in a row. It has unique ammo types and is crazy satisfying to use.
To me it sounds like you’re playing the game wrong. The game is RE4 2.0 in how the combat works, you’re forced to stealth for the first few chapters but after that you’re basically jesus once you upgrade some things and you start to figure out the mechanics. It can be a frustrating game at first, but once things start to come together for you it becomes something else entirely.
I’d say the learning curve is similar to RE4 too. I loved the game and it’s one of my favorites of the past generation but it’s also a game people are divided on in that it’s either you love it or hate it type of game, but the people who like it really enjoy it.
Thanks for reminding me that I still need to finish Evil Within. I originally lost interest in it after ditching safe head.
Most of SFV’s music is great, but I hate how they have so many different composers. Imagine Cammy and Mbison’s themes were done by Masahiro Aoki with the guitars and all that. But nope, we got that SF4 dude who turned it into whatever genre you call it. Headbanger?
heh, sheeeeiiiiitttttt…I went to wave 50 once again with another random team of folks in Gears 4… Normal difficulty, of course…I always figure most people are playing that setting, and I still prefer to have fun feeling like I’m borderline unstoppable…maybe I’ll bump it up to hardcore on the next one though. On this one, we didn’t even get wiped out until wave 50…it was surprising that only 1 person quit early; our 4 man squad went all the way to the end of that shit and it was glorious…on our last attempt at wave 50, there was a great “MVP” moment for me (heh, again) when I was the “last man standing”, then managed to get people resurrected and back in the fight for the comeback victory…
I’m also close to “re-up” # 4 at this point in terms of general level.
I still haven’t tried “Ironman” mode Horde though… I figure people are probably quite strict about how that is played since the stakes are high—basically the rule is that you start completely over from wave 1 if the squad gets wiped out…ha, imagine being that chump that ends up cost everyone the entire run by running off and getting killed far away, or not playing your role to absolute perfection…heh, that’s some pressure right there I may try it next time…
…actually, having been to wave 50 several times at this point… I don’t think it’s all that critical that people speak to each other anyway in this mode. The character class roles help define everything…as long as you have the major roles covered, and people are sticking to their role, the squad will more than likely steam-roll the enemies all the way to the end, with only the bosses being any kind of problem. A team that is missing a scout or engineer is in for quite an uphill battle right from the start though…those 2 classes are critical. Whenever the team is missing either of those roles, I’ll definitely get on that.
I’m seriously considering getting the Oculus Rift S to get into VR. I’ve heard mixed things about it but the price is right and setup is a breeze. The biggest hangup I have is the fact Oculus has its own marketplace and would use Steam. I wish this VR shit was universal on PC.
thanks
re4 is actually one of my favourite games of all time. i dont recall the combat and resource management being this frustrating and the art direction was not as pretentious as the evil within 1.
i know about the multi kills with the matches but its pretty hard to line the baddies up the right way because they move in a somewhat unpredictable manner. and im that guy who feels like shit when i use an item and it doesnt accomplish all it could have.
i upgraded the handgun critical headshot to its maximum probability of 50% because it meshed with my playstyle and seemed like a good way to conserve ammo and matches, but now that seems pointless lol. admittedly, i was reluctant to invest in the crossbow because i didnt know if the game would provide enough materials for the bows to justify upgrading. is it worth it to maximally upgrade the harpoon bows to get fire damage? i will start using the flash bows more also, which i never used previously (except against the invisible enemies in the hospital).
maybe the heavy reliance on resource management (i.e. deciding what to upgrade, what to use against which enemies, etc.) instead of actually interacting with things sums up what i dislike about this game. you could probably deduce that i also never liked turn-based rpgs.
sry for tldr but i feel slightly less shitty from talking about it. been at this game since novemberish (i play games approx once a month now) and i just want it to be over. hell i even bought a ps4 last week but refuse to open the box until i finish this game.
Pretentious? Evil Within? In what way?
Yea how is the art in Evil Within pretentious? That’s an interesting claim to level at a horror game.
SFV having several composers for its soundtrack actually was a great (and probably one of the only) decision by Capcom. I’d much rather this than again having Hedeyuki Fukusawa doing the OST alone. At least now he only plagued a few character and stage themes instead of majority of the soundtrack like he did with SFIV, xTekken and MVC3
i dunno i like classical music and i find the repeated use of clair de lune to come off as incredibly forced and hokey. especially bc it was intended to create a sense of temporary relief, even though the suspense and terror (other than that created by the thought of having to play it) are minimal. maybe it will end up being related to the story somehow though. could be a few other things that i cant remember rn cause i’m angry af at this game. anyway i will experiment more with the crossbow and maybe that will make it more comfortable.
I personally wish that more games used classical music.
Ah I see. I don’t have any particularly special relationship with classical so I guess that’s why didn’t feel that way.
