Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

Umm…even the first Shenmue is still bigger in scope than something like Hellblade, haha. Unless there’s something I missed. Can’t comment on Plague’s Tale.

Sucks for PC heads, especially the ones that backed, but I’m still day one on S3.

Samurai Shodown’s day 1 patch has been tested and only has 4 frames of input lag. This is way lower than most games, especially on UE. They even flew a guy out with a test build to WydD in France who does a lot of testing for these on fighting games these days.

I really hope so…rooting for SamSho.

Anyone have any thoughts on Gato Roboto for the Switch?

Nintendo still doesn’t know how the internet works.

I was looking more at the development side of things. Shenmue is a bigger game in terms of hours needed to complete it, but funnily enough Hellblade has a larger game world and more elaborate cutscenes thanks to their motion capture procedures (which of course was unheard of at the time for faces).

It’s an odd comparison, I admit. All I wanted to say is that if you can make a game like Hellblade with limited amounts of funding then you definitely can make a successor to a Dreamcast game, particularly if you don’t plan on reinventing the wheel.

They never cease to amaze when it comes to anything online. Can the switch backup saves to a USB stick or SD card?

Hey, is there some rules of behavior on SRK?

Nintendo has never been good at handling online. Like. Ever. For everyone one step forward they take in something they always take 3 steps back in something else.

I felt super bad for Reggie having to push the smart phone app with saying how great and engaging it would be for the players that use it.

I don’t agree with a lot of their choices they’ve been making with their online service like lack of cloud storage in certain games but at the same time I get it. They don’t want people manipulating the system which makes the online experience imbalanced and not fun for people.

Still dumb tho.

NSO in general has been a fumbled and horribly managed joke from the start though. It’s pretty much the only glaring flaw when it comes to the Switch.

Super Mario Maker 2 will be 2.8GB. That’s tiny! And pretty convenient for those who want it digitally.

Only the Xbox live and PSN don’t have this problem. Nintendo could whatever they want not abused be handled server side instead of locally.

Yeah. But Nintendo titles do. There were tons of instances of hacking and manipulation with Pokken, Splatoon 2, Arms and a few other games before NSO launched which is likely why they came to this decision.

I don’t agree with it. It’s stupid. But I get it. Nintendo is a family company and want their games to be family oriented and family appealing. They want positive online environments for their games.

They are also still not in the modern age of gaming in a lot of ways. So for them it makes sense. For consumers it doesn’t though.

Makes sense to me, I’m 33 years old and I don’t want to deal with cheaters and huge shit heads either.

Not saying Nintendo doin it all right or anything, I don’t even have NSO, but every company should want a good environment for their titles and the people who play them.

I do agree that people forget that nintendo not only wants to keep control of their products but they’re trying to maintain their integrity with families by being in control of their online system. This comes as a frustrating issue for their playerbase that aren’t caring about families.

Having said that, Nintendo still hasn’t found the balance with how restrictive they need to be. Much of their restricting issues actually don’t affect me.

I think they are gonna have a hard time finding that balance due to cultural differences and such.

Bought Smash Ultimate. Whoever designed this adventure mode is a fucking clown. Its ass. I’ve fought 3 matches of 3 King Dedede’s and all they did the entire time was jumping down smashes. This isn’t fun. This is lazy, boring, and total dog shit.

The multiplayer as always is a blast, but unlocking these characters and doing this adventure mode are the anti-fun and more proof that Sakurai is over rated as fuck.

Oh and unlocking this many characters in a roster based game is fucking stooooopid, and whoever made this decision is fucking stooooopid. Unlocking characters in this type of game will never be fun.
