Melee this time eh? I think Strider or Assassin unlock “instant reset” and this works how it sounds - you can instantly reset the cover or animation of ANY move.
If you fall from a high height you take fall damage and there’s an animation, but you can just INSTANT RESET THAT SHIT. Your big damage move have too much recovery afterwards? INSTANT RESET THAT SHIT. Maybe your placement of your skill was ass and it whiffs? INSTANT RESET THAT SHIT.
Bitterblack Isle is really cool once you get into it too, they turn the game into Diablo. Enemies and situations get more difficult the deeper you go down into Bitterblack, and the rewards get better too and they even implemented an unidentified/identify item system. I didn’t touch it back on PS3 but went deep on PS4, basically there’s another tier of items in there that aren’t obtainable anywhere else in the game and the fights get more ridiculous too.
Oh yeah, leveling as certain classes gives specific +attributes too. I think Warrior gives the most strength/health, so getting most of your levels as a Warrior was the best or something like that, a mix between them and Assassin or something. Oldschool RPG shiiiet.
Platinum’d on PS3 & PS4. Sequel please Capcom or bring Deep Down back to life.
I doubt this was a serious question but at the end of the day a genre is defined by its design, not its perspective. Super Metroid, Metroid Prime and Batman: Arkham Asylum are all pretty much part of the same genre despite them using three different points of view.
What they need to assess is their whole game as it looks like total fucking shit. In 2001 it was acceptable but now man… this shit gonna bomb. They should delay the game at least 1 year.
Recent interview with Doug Bowser saying Nintendo hasn’t pulled the plug on the 3DS despite no software for it announced at E3. He cited that the 3DS had no presence at E3 due to it being “dedicated to the switch and what the hardware has to offer”. He also mentioned the 3DS is still selling extremely well due to it being a great piece of hardware for young and new gamers alike.
IIRC The Kickstarter was like 1/10th of Shenmue 1’s budget. Part of the reason I didn’t back, outside of Mighty No. 9, was that Kickstarter goal seemed too low creates Shenmue 3.
A year won’t fix the game. The fact is that the creator doesn’t know how to make Shenmue without a massive budget, adding a bunch of cute…but ultimately unnecessary things.
It’s quite clear from interviews he’s made absolutely zero adjustments of his vision or made any real compromises.
Fucking good. Don’t want him to compromise, one of the few in this industry willing to stick to his guns and make HIS vusion, not someone elses. I want to play Shenmue 3, not someone else’s idea of what Shenmue 3 should be.
Guess what? You’re not going to get either. His vision doesn’t work without a ton of money poured in. At best you’re going to get Shenmue 3 extremely diluted.
There is a legitimate difference between maintaining artistic integrity, and just being unable and unwilling to deal with reality.
Guess what? I am getting Shenmue 3 so this was super fuckin stupid post from tou. I wanted Shenmue 3 by Yu Suzuki and that is exactly what I am getting. Don’t project your expectations and shit onto me.
I see this whole shenmue thing as a Meh.
I can care less ether way. I honestly dont think the creators means of going about things is very sustainable, artistic vision is one thing, but you still got to respect the limitations of your medium you are working with.
If the fans are fine with the current state of things , so be it. It’s not my money.
Depends. I’m no developer but I can imagine that a lot of stuff they had to build from scratch for the first games are now part of the engine and tools they’re using. The industry hasn’t been standing still these last fifteen years - I remember reading a short column from someone within the industry who basically said that his entire job from the 90s is now just a toggle function in UE4.
I mean just look at games like Hellblade or Plague Tale. Those were made by small teams with limited time and money on their hands. Shenmue isn’t really that different in scope compared to those titles.
