Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

Episodes  I actually feel bad for Final Fantasy VII stans. It’s been what like 4 years since the game announced. It will be damn near 5 in March and you only giving your fans Midgar. Get the fuck out here with that fam.

Modern Square Enix, FF fans are lucky they are getting a portion of the game in less then seven years.

Episodic format unfortunately fits in too well for the squeenix brand. They can in theory stretch out a story forever.

In theory I could wait for the complete edition.

Fuck square lmao.

But completed editions aren’t ever complete. Never forget the final mix, remastered edition, HD edition etc. It’s why I gave up on KH

Man, contra hard corps is some bullshit. Hats off to anyone who beast that game without cheating in some way- it’s tough even with save scumming. It’s also ugly, the sound and music are shitty, and position lock being a toggle really sucks. I do not feel like I missed out by not playing it back in the 90’s. Can’t say I can remotely agree with those who prefer it over contra 3.

Konami’s actually made more money since it stopped making AAA games though.

Cool?

It means they’re not gonna make the games we want them to, as long as people keep gobbling up Yu-Gi-Oh and PES.

Does the Konami code work?

Why would they? YGO has been one of their main meal tickets for a long time. It’s smart on their part. Just shitty for everyone else.

new Valfaris trailer, from the makers of Slain back from hell

Looks pretty cool. Like a heavy metal Contra in space

demo up on Steam

Samurai Shodown 5 Special on PS4 got a surprise patch that adds rollback netcode.

It’s a weird kind of rollback code where, below a certain threshold, the delay becomes variable. But it’s still rollback.

Also, kudos to them (Code Mystics? SNK?) for using actual ping times instead of bars.

I’m so damn hype for Bloodstained man. 10+ years of playing random-ass indie Metroidvanias and none of them come close to even the ā€œcrappierā€ Metroidvanias.

The GOAT returns in just a few days.

Don’t know, didn’t try it. The Japanese version has health bars and unlimited continues though, so once they add that version (I believe this is supposed to happen, like the CV collection), it will be much more playable. Still ugly with bad music, sound, and control though.

Of course Konami’s profits grow, they don’t make any games and content updates for the YuGiOh games barely require any resources, meanwhile they grab all the cash from pack purchases

To their defense they had to restart development or something didn’t they?

and so begins the adventures of a new hero in the world of Switch-version Dragon’s Dogma… this character I just made looks like a young Teddy Pendergrass that took steroids for a while…still deciding on whether he will be a mage type or not though. The first character I made way back on 360 was a mage/sorcerer dude…so I’m already leaning towards a sword/shield type just for a different kind of experience…

The intro to this game was such a well thought-out thing, now that I’m seeing it again…they immediately throw you into some action to go kill something with a full party of characters…it perfectly sets the bar for what the player can expect in the typical battle situation, and it’s awesome.

PORTABLE Dragon’s Dogma, folks…damn what a time to be alive…

Has there been any talk about Samurai Showdown online play yet? Like if the netcode is rollback, delay, laggy as fuck?
