Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

Literally just turn the renewal off in your switches console settings. It will delete your card data.

Gamespot wasn’t impressed either.

Know what doesn’t impress me?

Polygon and Gamespot.

They are consistently shite.

And have been for over a decade.

I can scarcely think of an opinion I would give less of a flying fuck about.

Maybe Forbes.

I have very little interest in BL3. Hell I didn’t even know there was gonna be a 3 till just a couple/few days ago. I never even finished 2. I’ll get it when its 10 bucks or so. Or I’ll pirate it. That trailer didn’t get me hyped. Doesn’t really show much…looks like the same old shit with prettier graphics.

I respect your right to your opinion.

But nobody who is hype about the game gives a fuck what anyone who doesn’t give a fuck thinks

Perhaps that is too harsh.

No negative opinion is going to dissuade us at this point.

You must give a fuck or you wouldn’t have responded to my post. Dont be upset that I dont jump on the hype train after seeing the not so great trailer.

I’m more interested in Risk of Rain 2. Shit looks fun.

That is bad logic.

Your opinion is not going to alter mine.

That is what I meant.

Feel free to talk shit about it.

It doesn’t mean a thing to me or to any of us who are hype.

I was laughing my ass off at Stu’s using utter dogshite sites to try to add cred to his own opinion of the game.

I respect his opinion literally a billion times more than Polygon or Gamestop, so he’s basically slumming by associating theirs with his.

None of it means a thing to me, as per my buying that game day negative as many as preordering shall allow.

I think it does…

Edit - I didn’t post my opinion to try and alter anyone else’s opinion. I did so because this is the VGG thread and we discuss games. Even if I dont like the game I can still voice my thoughts on it here.

All the replies kinda tell otherwise.

It’s whatever. There are much important things $RK can go to civil war about. Like ass vs titties

There is no war here, lol.

Y’all have exaggerated stock in opinion.

Ergo the discussion.

But you are attempting to derail, and that is okay, and par for the course here.

My original, and only point, was that Stu was trying to use Polygon and Gamespot to bolster his own opinion as if they were Authorities… which is Logic 101 levels of lel no.

Pretty sure all the people who love BL are just happy to go SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT LOOT LOOT LOOT on a whole new terrain that isn’t some wacky air setting.

I mean, I heard good things about the Presequel but still. Its going to be really hard for them not to make the game fun. I don’t really need the trailer to try and impress me with stuff. Just to more or less confirm that more fun is about to be had.

This wasn’t my point. It was mearly to point out I wasn’t alone in my critique. I wasn’t saying their opinion were authoritative in any way. Just pointing out that certain outlets agreed in what I was saying.

And I’m well aware there are tons of other websites out there that’re stoked about BL3. And that’s fine.

I’m simply not and clearly I’m not alone in that feeling.

I think the discussion can kinda end here? Both sides are just talking to a brick wall at this point, you know?

Peace and love, homie.

A few years ago, BL3 would have excited me, but I just can’t get it up for pure RNG based loot drops anymore. Monster Hunter has spoiled me.

How does Monster Hunter handle loot drops, precisely?

I do not know, so I am asking.

Aside from one specific event, everything is done by crafting. The only drops you’re going for are parts to craft stuff. So basically, if you want a big green gun that’s great at shooting explosive rounds that stick to monsters, then you just continually hunt the monster who’s parts you need for it.

I mean, yes the parts are still subject to RNG (or as we like to call it, the “Desire Sensor”, because it knows what you want and wont give it to you), but it feels much better when you can work to the specific thing you want (and even have ways to increase the chances of getting the part you need), instead of just waiting for it to drop.

But isn’t that how Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel, along with Diablo 2, and most other loot games do it?

The drop you want is still RNG, and is hunted from specific enemies, with world drops being rare random gravy.

It’s been years, but I’m pretty sure you didn’t craft stuff in Borderlands, at least not in the same way as MonHun.

And there’s the fact that Borderlands (and Diablo, and other looters) tend to have random stats or variable on their weapons and armor. No such thing in MonHun, once you have the parts, you can craft the specific variation of a piece of armor or weapon that you want, and customize it further as well so you can add the stats and bonuses you need.
