Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

Microsoft always ran their gaming division at a lost. Before Halo 3 came out for the 360, that division was over $1bill in the hole. Halo allowed then to break even by year 3. Microsoft makes more off their office products and services than Xbox.

That’s thanks to RROD though, it cost Microsoft 1.5 billion to call back all the existing 360s on the storeshelves and replace them with new units from the fixed revision

RROD was part of it, alot of launch 360s were also bricking HDTVs.

Oh what? I’ve never heard about that one before

Somehow I got behind on Diablo 3 stuff… I wasn’t aware until just now that season 17 started apparently last week??! sheeeeit, I’m late on making a new seasonal character then… yep; most likely a necromancer… necro and wizard continue to be my top 2 choices in this game

oh…but the necro seasonal reward is the Inarius set though…? Ehhhhh…that’s unfortunate. I just never liked the concept of that particular set.

…ahhhh but I’m in the middle of a really good run on Dead Cells right now

edit—ohhhhhh I forgot the seasonal character’s paragon points get added to your regular character paragon points when that season ends and a new one starts…holy shit I have 705 paragon on the XB1 version now…sheeeeeeeeeitttttttt!!! my regular characters are about to be SO goddamn OP…

It was at launch, few people had their TVs bricked by the 360, so Microsoft had to replace some HD TV, most at the time was plasma screens.

Yeah, it sounds like some bullshit.

is there a video for players too?

I am curious as to how this could happen since launch 360s didn’t even have HDMI. So how?

Component cables or vga?
I didn’t have a Xbox 360 my self till, alot later

Used both if I recall. I had a launch 360 and it came with an all-in-one component/composite cable. I don’t think they had HDMI until the elite model.

The next Call of Duty will be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It’s a “soft reboot” like God of War last year.

Just, wow. I straight up gave up on the series with Black Ops 4 last year, and this desperate clawing shit only reaffirms that I made the right decision. They already released a “remaster” to COD4 where they jammed microtransactions in after release and re-charged for DLC maps (more than the DLC cost originally BTW). Now they’re tapping that well again in desperation. Crazy.

I really do not understand why does the videogame industry love Hollywood’s (soft) reboot trend

Because it’s works. The reboot trend worked for Mortal Kombat and Ratchet and Clank off the top of my head.

God of War too. Sorta. It served as a continuation but also as a reboot of sorts.

Oh! And tomb raider. The new tomb raider trilogy is great.

hell yeah… just beat the XB1 version of Cuphead now… sheeeeeit, the Devil killed me probably 10+ times before I finally got him though. That first form is ridiculous.

heh, it’s interesting to see the percentages… of those who played this on XB1… at least going by the achievement stats… only 7% beat the Devil and finished the game …on Normal difficulty.

Neat.

When the remasters coming tho?

Watching CvS2 at Combo Breaker reminds me of the kind of lame modern fighters are missing. Really miss that style, over the “spectator friendly” way today’s games play.
