Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

thx for posting that stuff all the time. goto for trailer and stuff :3

So. I stumbled upon a game that recently released in Nintendo switch eshop. It’s called Heroine Anthem Zero: Episode 1.

I haven’t played it yet (I can’t really buy any games until I’m back at work in a few weeks) but it looks promising.

It looks visually and play style wise like a mix between Murasama: The Demon Blade that came out on Wii/PSVita and Code of Princess for the 3DS/Switch. Maybe even a little dash of Odin Sphere.

Apparently it came out a year or so ago on PS4? Iunno. Looks good and fun though.

I’ve looked at that a couple times when in the E-Shop. It looks cool but their join based animation isn’t on Vanillawares level and looks kind of odd to me. I might pick it up some time but other stuff I want to scoop first like Aggleos. I need to finish the Blast Master Zero games and The Dragons Trap remake first before I buy anymore Switch games not named Mario Kart.

My 3DS is starting to stack up to, I have both Bravely games, Etrian 5, and SMT Strange Journey Redux to play though…yeesh.

Fucking a. Just saw in the Switch eshop they made another James Pond.

Literally why?

James Pond is fun.

I’m so lit over Psyvariar Delta getting delayed…again…to september. These idiots aren’t even deving the game, just western publishing. Fucking clown shoes.

ha, I forgot that James Pond was a character until seeing him again on the eShop…one of those old mascots most of us forgot years ago… like Rocky Rodent and Aero the Acrobat

Dead Cells—I turned it down to just ā€œHardā€ difficulty so I could actually get somewhere again…I’ve unlocked 2 or 3 extra outfits for the character now…starting with the gold suit.

I registered for Defend the North. It’s going to be the first major I’ve ever attend. I’ve attended a few locals but nothing like this. I signed up for SFV, MK11, SamSho and Super Turbo. I hope I don’t end up on stream.

I have PS+ again. So if you wanna run some matches to practice, lemme know.

Got a Cammy and a Zeku on deck. Also some wack version of characters people don’t like.

I remember when I was visiting my girlfriend at the time when she lived in Atlanta. There happened to be a pretty decent sized tournament (like 100+) for Blazblu at the near by college. We ended up going to it and I found out they were going to stream part of it. I was like ā€œfuuuuuck. I don’t want to be on streamā€
I was the first match the put on the stream. I choked so fucking hard and got bodied. I don’t think I had ever played that badly at a tournament since my first one.

The whole experience was nerve racking.
Like, I had been to tons of decent sized local tournaments, regionals and nationals in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, had been to several Evo’s at the point so the local crowds watching didn’t bother me. It was the fact an unknown amount of people were watching me.

This was when a dude that went by Panda, who happened to live in Atlanta, he was a huuuuge anime game streamer when the platform was still fairly new. So a lot of people were watching.

It also didn’t help that I could actually see the chat stream for my match. They weren’t very nice. Lol

I’m going through my Steam backlog and I see Killer Instinct.

Now I’m like…why did I buy it?

My PSN handle is the same as my SRK username. Shoot me a friend request when you have the time.

If I end up on stream and see the chat I’m gonna drink it in. I will need to channel the salt it will give me.

Sent you one. Got the fancy smancy app on my phone.

Playing on stream is no big deal. I’ve gotten bopped on stream and I’ve 10-3ed a dude in a ft10 on stream. No biggie.

Tournaments are super fun though. You’ll have a blast. I have a lot of great memories going to them. Like my 3 favorite memories all happened the same year at the same event. Evo 2008

I was in the same Super Turbo pool with Alex Valle and Snakeyez. I didn’t play either but I didn’t make it out of pools. I remember playing the guy that knocked me out of the tournament. I went 0-2 against him. The first match was EXTREMELY close. I main DeeJay in ST. He was playing Dictator. Our match was super super close but I lost. I thought he had figured out my ā€œabilityā€ with DeeJay so I switched up to Claw. Which is a bad match up, I know but it’s who I felt comfortable with at the time. I got BODIED. I was upset but knew every reason why I lost.

I wrapped the cord around my stick, shook the dudes hand, exchanged ā€œgg’sā€ and started to walk away. As I turn around I see that Valle had been watching my match. He looked at me and was like ā€œWhy’d you switch to Claw? That’s a horrible match upā€ I told him ā€œYeah, I know.ā€ He then said to me ā€œYou could have had him if you had stuck with DeeJay. Your DeeJay was solid. You just need to buff out the rough edges of your footsies.ā€ I was like ā€œoh. Okay. Thanks for the adviceā€

On the inside I was admittedly fan boying out. I was like ā€œOmg one of the SF OG’s just complimented me on my game play. Fuuuuuuuuck!ā€

The second was when I was in my 3rd strike pools. I got paired up against Kindevu. Nuki was behind us watching. I beat Kindevu 2-1. I main Ken in 3S cause I’m boring. Anyways, after the match Nuki gave me thumbs up and in very broken English was like ā€œKindevu new to game. He bad. You? Potential! Keep playing!ā€ I was like :heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

The last one was watching John fucking Choi win both ST and CvS2. Seeing that shit live was god like. The entire crowd was sooooo fucking hype.

Shortly after Choi’s double championship at Evo he probably made the best post on SRK next to Mummy-B’s heart breaking post saying good bye to everyone.

I agree with you, I am not a fan of James Pond.

Bubsy the Bobcat.

That is all.

Hmmm. RE: FG memories. All I have done was beaten Wong in ST a long time ago on Dreamcast pad his O Sagat VS Dictator. Also stayed in his room, mainly with people that ran Seasons Beatings. I almost beat Daigo in a casual set of SFIV back when that was the thing. I had him down to last round Ryu mirror, I did c.mk > ex FB, but since I didn’t play SFIV, I didn’t know at the time that I could’ve linked into Super for the win. Lastly I was in the first MK9 major in a team exhibition on stream, it was like Markman ect. I was playing this local who goes for crazy stuff, but has zero fundamentals, I destroyed him with a no practice and no combos Smoke in stream, I watched it later and Markman and his partner were like…Where’s the combos WTF" I did shit like smoke bomb into f4. LOL still won.

I want more memories but I didn’t like SFIV, or SFV so I’m not willing to travel for the games I want to play being side games.

Also when I finally hit Japan next month, I’m grabbing a physical copy of that Million Arthur for PSFo.

As I’ve said before if I find a game case, and it has animated characters, and energy bars, I’ll probably buy it. FG’s are the only genre I will give an automatic ā€˜buy’ pass to, and buy without prejudice. Unless it’s Capcom 2.5D.

My cheek bones ached a bit after watching this.

Someone calculated this could essentially make PS5 cost as high as ~630$, assuming its base price begins at 500$ currently. USA gamers about to get fucked on all fronts

It isnt just video games, it’s all electronics

Point still stands though, shit’s gonna be expensive at launch

Also, if this tariff doesn’t go away prior to/after the nextgen hardware is out, both Sony and MS will have to start thinking about either moving their production out of China to seek out a better deal (apparently Apple for example have been exploring India for that same reason), or trying to swallow the tariff to keep the acceptable cost.

I could see Microsoft keeping the next Xbox at ~500$ regardless since they’re a giant corporation and the Xbox division isn’t their main source of income, but Sony… that’s a bit tougher to tell because they’d have to sell their hardware at a major loss again like in the PS3 days
