Epic just can’t win lol
Soul Calibur VI, Ace Combat 7 and Jump Force do well for Namco
I swung by the mall after the movies (they’re in the same lot basically) to kill time before I called for an Uber. They were having a hobby/trade show type thing within the mall. One of the booths was selling pop culture prints and posters. Ended up picking up this beauty.
He was selling them for $10 or two for $18 but I didn’t see any other posters or prints I wanted. Im satisfied with just this. Wind Waker is my favorite console Zelda title. Maybe my favorite Zelda title overall. Different day different answer. Some days it’s Wind Waker. Some days it’s Link’s Awakening.
Still don’t get how the fuck people can actually stand to look at Jump Force.
I just posted this in the Nintendo thread but figured I’d post it here too.
LE SMM2 has been put up on Amazon for preorder:
It’s like last year Blizzard explicitly stated they had “no plans” of bringing Hearthstone to the Swtich.
So much for their desire to “bring more console exclusive content”
I just want the stylus and the game. Already got the online services at their launch and have another thanks to the Twitch Prime offer some weeks back. I can’t say if I will still want it cloud saves or no after 2020, especially given the offline Tetris is available.
It’s kinda dumb that the access to an offline mode in a tetris game of all things is locked behind a 10$ DLC
Minor update to this. Epic has locked down accounts that made too many purchases. Apparently, Epic fraud detection system is blame for that. This is why you need a damn shopping cart!
yeah, they really fucked the first sale up. really strange that they cant polish that store with all the money behind it…
Reminder that this is a company behind several AAA franchises (Unreal Tournament, Gears of War), behind one of the most widely used engines (Unreal Engine), and behind a battle royale that completely took the world over (Fortnite)
yet they can’t fucking figure out how to do a Storefront, despite the fact that they have a multitude of competitors’ examples to look at
Guess they can’t do shit without overworking their employees to near death
The problem with businesses and especially tech companies, there are usually one of two types of fools leading the ship when things like this happen.
Fool A: Wants to rip off others and is swayed by trends. Which isn’t bad except they fall into the same pit falls because they just are copying others. Fool B: Wants to reinvent the wheel and will say fuck the original design and try to do things radically different.
Personally, I am not a PC player so I haven’t fucked with Steam or Epic store enough recently to tell which of those two Epic is mostly falling under. It sounds like the later but you never know.
They’re neither of the two.
They launched a store that’s almost completely devoid of basic features like a Wishlist or a Shopping Cart, and since Epic knew nobody would willingly start using it, they started throwing around cash to purchase timed or permanent exclusives, so regular gamers have no choice but to use the EGS if they want to obtain a particular tilte
Other than the objectively better deals for the developers (smaller cut off evry purchase compared to Steam) and a much better frontpage (since there’s no Greenlight or Early Access equivalent full of stock Unity assets sold as “full games”) - there’s zero reason to actually shop there
Epic seems to be relying on getting as many exclusives as possible to get people to go to their store. Of course, when there’s a option, people are actually avoiding it. Case in point, the Division 2 sold 10x more on Uplay than on Epic’s store.
That said, companies are still going to put their games on it, and even go exclusive, since Epic takes a lower cut (12%) than Valve (30%).
How any online store has NO shopping cart is beyond me. Even the most basic self made webpages has a cart function
I wish the Nintendo’a switch eShop had a universal cart. They only give you access to a cart if you’re buying multiple pieces of DLC for the same game.
Otherwise? Nada.
They should make it’s implementation top priority asap. It’s pathetic that it’s system treated customers like spam bots because of its absence. They need to pull the brakes on screwing over Steam for a minute and make their store functional.
Shit changes? Everyone was skeptical about the Switch at first. Now that people realize Nintendo is going back to what they do best. Companies want to be apart of it.
Obviously it isnt online
So it was revealed not long ago that we’ll have athletic themes in the sky-themed level designs for SMM2. I’m really interested to hear how the original SMB overworld theme is remixed for that. We got a couple seconds worth of it in the Direct, but the narrator was talking over it and Mario was collecting coins so there wasn’t a clear sample.
