2 was trash and 3 didn’t do much better. Series should’ve stopped after the first.
My issue with Darksiders is it tried to be too many things at once. It didn’t have its own identity. Just stole great things from everyone else and made them mediocre
I can remember Didenhill, Canneroc, Shieldring Keep, Star Camp, Haxhi Dam, Ysa, etc. with ease as they are all unique. Each location has unique geographical/architectural features, problems. and social dynamics. You even have the ability to change the way most of these places are through your involvement.
The story of Darksiders II still beats anything thrown into the story of any Zelda game. The real draw is better mechanics, level design, puzzles, and challenge. Also, Zelda games make you collect many pieces of something and backtrack to get many items and treasures.
Mario 3D World and Odyssey alone are the GOAT 3D Platformers. Jet Set Radio after those. Then Mario 64.
Still haven’t played the Galaxy games, yet.
You’re definitely showing your “higher standards” right now.
If they didn’t give a shit about it. They would have released the version subpar version they developed in Japan instead of scrapping it and bringing Retro to start over again.
While I enjoy Jet Set Radio it is not a platformer. It is an extreme sports game ala Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating with a focus on graffiti. Mechanically it is rough around the edges.
P.S. I can’t help it if someone can’t appreciate greatness and worships brand name mediocrity.
I don’t think it made anything mediocre. I agree it had no identity of it’s own. Exploration and combat were way more fun than any I played from Zelda.
Those are great, too!
I mean.
I would kill several people for a “new” Jet Set Radio. Hell, remaster the original from Dreamcast and give it 4k visuals, but DO. NOT. TOUCH. the soundtrack.
Yeah. The jet set games OST’s were absolute fucking fire.
Really dumb conspiracy theory here, but I think that the Sonic Movie people may have made two versions of the movie, and are creating a fire just so they can put it out and get buzz for doing so. I 99% doubt that’s the case, but there’s a way to determine if it is:
-If they make some minor, but not crazy changes that fix things some but not all the way (e.g. just changing Sonic’s eyes and teeth), then they didn’t do what I’m thinking and genuinely got surprised by fan reaction.
-If they make Sonic look almost completely different and more faithful to his original design, bet they had that better Sonic in the can already. There’s no way, with the planning and work that CG animation takes, that they can just say “whoops” and fix things to that level. Not even with crunch on the animation team. Maybe I’m wrong though.
We’ll see.
You have to give a shit about Borderlands to know that was posted there.
So, it seems that MK players are getting their minds blown, discovering the concept of meaties for the first time.
isn’t MK in it’s purest form a 50/50 game?
and again I remain the one and only cheerleader for Modnation Racers---- but yeah, Modnation shits on the Super Mario Kart franchise, imo… because I like custom, player-made stuff in games, and Mario Kart games don’t give you that. (*now they let you put your Mii character in there but that’s it)
Random race in Modnation Racers online…you might be in a race with other players racing as Homer Simpson vs. Batman vs. Superman vs. Goku vs. Trollface Internet Meme vs. Wario vs. Jason Voorhees vs. Barack Obama, vs. one of my disgusting shit-themed characters, etc. heh, I also just remembered I made a spot-on “Colonel Sanders” driving a KFC kart…and a “Noid” driving a Domino’s Pizza van (only people from my old generation remember the Noid tho)
The cars are all custom, player-made stuff too. On top of that, the tracks can be customize/created too. The depth in customization with all these things is far superior to that of most games ever produced. You have a choice of tons of car bodies, tires, suspension, even the license plate, steering wheel, seats, engine appearance, texture effects, “stickers” that can be rotated or placed wherever on the car or character, full color control on everything, various miscellaneous “accessories” like dead flies on your character (which you can also adjust the size and orientation) or car, alphanumeric text in various fonts for you characters and cars, various clothing items, etc. etc.
…and on top of all that creation stuff it’s fun to actually play too. I don’t believe Mario Kart will ever even begin to fuck with all that…not even close.
X was. 9 had strong zoning. 11, we don’t know yet.
Vampire Masquerade/Bloodlines stuff…
The curses of the various clans are interesting… https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Clan_Curse
I wouldn’t mind La Sombra then… not casting a reflection isn’t really that big of a deal, especially compared to others like the Nosferatu that are doomed to never blend in with normal society, or even Gangrel that could apparently have bestial features show up permanently. I would always prefer to still pass for human and blend in.
Also—take a look at how awesome “Obteneration” is… using shadows to teleport, conjuring shadow objects and armor, “shadow clone jutsu!” etc… sheeeeeit, this BETTER be one of the things in Bloodlines 2, man…
