You missed the point as its called ‘Mortal Kombat’ for a reason (mortals dropping) and abusing the rules and character’s weak points is what makes the sorcerer so devious.
It only borrowed Lo Pan (Shang Tsung) and Lightning of the Three Storms (Raiden) from ‘Big Trouble in Little China’. The plot and everything else has other origins such as Jean Claude Van Damme (Johnny Cage), Cynthia Rothrock (Sonya), etc.
So happy Bloodstained is releasing soon. 99% of these indie Metroidvanias not called Guacamelee just haven’t been doing it for me man.
Paid off RAGE 2 already by using the trade 3 get it free deals. Paid a whopping 30 bucks for it. Lots of titles dropping that I want in May and June:
RAGE 2
Sanic Racer(is this literally the only Kart racer not called Mario Kart 8? This gen lol)
Bloodstained
Judgement
Crash Racer maybe SamSho
Sanic/Bloodstained/Crash are all releasing for less than full price, so I should be able to get them for like 20-25 bucks abusing the trade-in deals. Trade-in deals have been a godsend for me this gen and have allowed me to day juan a lot of games I normally wouldn’t.
I went out of my way to play and collect all action games last-gen(DMC4, Ninja Gaiden II/Razor’s Edge, Star Wars Force Unleashed 1&2, Splatterhouse, El Shaddai, etc. etc.) and I finished them all, but I couldn’t get into Blades of Time. I gave it a few hours but I just couldn’t get into it, and I finished Lollipop Chainsaw which has really average gameplay for the genre. The game also ran like hot dogshit back on PS3, as in single digits FPS and I imagine if the port is quick and dirty it probably won’t run all that well on the Switch either.
Still the game is probably better than Drakengard 3. Don’t play Drakengard 3 unless you like your games to run at > 10 FPS while having a garbage story and characters.
Finished Katana Zero last night. It’s a pretty badass game that made no sense at all story wise until it all came together at the end. The pacing is kind of wonky in the middle with a lot of stoppage in the gameplay but the last few levels are balls to the wall action. Really fun retro game. I probably killed over like 250 people in the game lol.
I love the first MK movie. Usually watch it atleast once a year. The movie did the franchise pretty great despite being pg13 which is a crazy feat. It will always be up there for what it achieved and the fact that it STILL is coming full circle and influencing the franchise that it adapted. If I’m looking at it without rose tints though and without nostalgia I can’t truthfully call that movie ‘great’ especially as time goes on. It’s still good though.
Literally the entire existence and plot of the MK franchise is completely due to the MK movie.
As a film with no bias, no it’s not that good. The fights are okay and random, the effects are pretty horrid mostly, the acting outside of Shang Tsung (because Cary is that dude) is average at best. Movie Raiden is also the worst mentor in the history of mentors, albeit a hilarious one.
It’s not a good movie critically…but it also doesn’t NEED to be a good movie critically. It provided a baseline of ideas that are still used in the MK Franchise to this day, ideas they never even considered before. Also up until MK11 it had the best Liu Kang simply because he didn’t have a stick up his ass for 99% of time.
A chick killing her sisters and taking their men to become her sex slaves is some of the stupidest shit I’ve ever seen in a game. The dialogue involved a lot of ding-dong jokes and jokes about dudes not being able to “perform” and imo, it was garbage. The original Nier is the only Yoko Taro game I actually enjoyed.
Yeah I mentioned it in my post, but it’s a remake instead of an actual new kart racer. I’ll most likely day juan though, it has a cool pre-order bonus too.
The gameplay isn’t all that great, but the visuals and level design were fucking awesome. It’s a really unique title.
Most of that is a problem with the localization, but even then I don’t see how it makes sense to only focus on that and not even look at the larger themes of fighting against different parts of yourself
I didn’t even bother to finish the game. I spent like 3-5 hours with it and thought it was fucking terrible. I was too busy cringing to see the underlying “message” you’re talking about, if there even was any in the 3-5 hours I spent with it.
@eskills Bruh I cleared Ninja Gaiden Sigma II on Mentor the other day, followed by finishing Razor’s Edge on Mentor. I wish these games didn’t have coop trophies…I’m 99% sure I could eventually clear them on Master Ninja with enough practice and patience.
PATH OF EXILE FLASHBACK LEAGUE MAY 11TH. “Flashback” brings a bunch of mods from previous leagues and expansions into every area you go into, making the game have a shitload more monsters on screen at once than usual coupled with even more loot out the ass. The last one was almost a year ago and I had a blast playing it. You also get put into a draw to win free MTX items depending on the level you get to as well.
^ I just picked these bad bois up. The recent “synthesis” league isn’t going to merge with the standard game, and so items like these will be impossible to get when the league ends. They’re sick because right above the 102 life roll it says “Onslaught” which gives you 20% attack speed, 20% movement speed and 20% cast speed at all times. This is insane because before this league you could only get that mod from very specific things like a Silver Flask. It also has my favorite enchant which is 12% attack and cast speed after you kill an enemy, just making you that much more SWIFT.
Hype israel. Managed to get a ring AND boots upgrade to my “standard” character which is my goal every expansion/league, to get at least one item that’s better than my standard characters items.
