I agree comparing the Switch to a PS4, Xbox One or a entry level gaming PC isn’t a far comparison.
Also the Switch uses an Arm Processor for the main CPU, everything else uses a processor from the x86 family. Code was just not properly optimized anyways in addition to how much more power the PS4 and Xbox One has.
I wonder if the Switch is going to get PS5/Xbox ports in a bit over a year. It’s kind of a miracle that it got DOOM and Wolf, albeit with a lower FPS/resolution/toned down graphics compared to the other versions.
It’ll be interesting to see if it does get these types of games at all once the new consoles hit.
I’m sure it’s something other than engine that makes the Switch version of Bloodstained run as it does.
I’m guessing it was outsourced or there wasn’t enough time.
I’m sure it could have run @ 60 if they nuked the graphics and resolution.
The Yoshi game uses UE4, and it’s 60 FPS but it runs at some weird 5XXp resolution. In the trailer they show a zillion comments of people complaining about the original graphics of Bloodstained so they most likely made graphics a priority over the FPS in the Switch version.
Imma day juan it on PS4. I screamed like a bitch when I watched the trailer earlier.
I think the Switch version was a late adoption, they did drop the PS Vita from getting a port.
well most of drakengard 3’s meat is in the later routes storyline wise but the game does play like shit so i can’t blame people that dont won’t to play it multiple times to get to the routes where the cool shit happens.
I am going to cop it on both PS4 and Steam.
Playing it on my Samsung Notebook 9 Pro, in bed with a DS4 in wifi with be pretty godlike, and a bigger screen than the Switch.
MK1 though
How do you go about using your DS4 with your PC?
Wifi works on my laptop.
But sound only goes through the headphones jack on a DS4 unless it is attached.
Playing your PS4 though the PC?
You can run an DS4 via Bluetooth on PC via DS4Windows.
I know of the app. I used to use it before switching to the 8bitdo’s Switch USB adapter.
DS4Windows isn’t bad, but there a new hiccups here and there.
I was wondering what other solutions other people came up with if any.
Steam has native support for DS4.
I should have said Bluetooth.
I misspoke.
It does suck that you need headphones to hear the games though.
I use a DS4 for Streets of Rage Remake.
Good times.
On another, somewhat related, note:
Is it just me, or do DS4s wear out way faster than any other previous iteration?
Not even just the nubs - my dpads are all pretty much shot, and this might be the first gen where most of what I play is almost purely analog.
I used to replace the numbs on most of my DS4 game pads with after market Xbox One style nubs.
Now I go for the metal analog thumb sticks.
I never had the D-pad wore out, but I did rebuilt 2 controllers recently
I remember back in the day, using eyeglass screwdrivers to take apart the original PS1 pads, to clean off the contacts.
They worked like new afterwards.
Simpler times.
I’ve burned through two DS4s. My first one the left analog stick stop registering diagonal inputs which made it impossible to play 3D games. My second one the membrane on the d-pad got torn and the button presses felt squishy as a result. Something snapped within the trigger button and it kept jamming. Never had to replace a controller that often as I did with a DS4.
Happened to me with the DS3.
I have a veritable graveyard of the things in my house. Pieces of shit.
