Fucking Midi audio for the modern ports? What the shit.
āNormally, only two can be acquired, but a third one can be obtained via a glitch in the Northern Cave from Tifa at the bottom of the cave. If the player sends Tifa to the right at the first path and Cloud to the left, then heads to the bottom and goes up the other path before going to the trigger spot for the final event, and then acquires the Mystile in the chest, then after triggering the event the player can obtain the 3rd Mystile. It provides 65 Defense, 50 Defense%, 72 Magic Defense, 60 Magic Defense%, and three sets of linked slots with normal growth.ā

Midi FF7 OST sounding like shiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeet. Not sure if I ever want to buy the PS4 port now.
Edit: Actually I overreacted a little bit, itās isnāt so bad. Watching a bit of a PS4 playthrough and it sounds OK. Not as good as the PS1 version though, itās weird the audio is in midi format, back then and now.
I matched against a JP player in FEXL on PS4 earlier. 2/5 bar connection and it was smooth as hell. Iāve never had that before, even on GGPO/Fightcade pings are just way too high to get decent matches but FEXLās netcode says fuck all of that. It no joke has some of the best netcode Iāve experienced in any fighting game.
I got rekt by this Shadow Geist player though, dude comboād into a raging demon for the win and didnāt even run it back even though he won. Dafuq. I busted out V. Rosso which I havenāt used in a while so the rust didnāt help me there. Iāve mainly been playing Kairi/Terry/Shadow Geist but I only have Terry on the Steam version. Heās fun as hell to play and has everything you need to be a good character in this game. Shit, he can get full combos off of anti-airs and his loops with meter do an easy 50-65% health.
Edios did the PC port as Square lacked the distribution/resources to do the PC release did some odd moves. Funny that later they got bought by Square. (Keep in mind EA did Squareās distribution of PS1 games outside of Japan at the time).
Then again square did some weird and ass backwards programming for FF7.
Hell is Other Demons is awesome but I noticed some nasty frame rate drops on the Switch when thereās a ton of action going on. Hopefully it gets patched soon.
I have both systems because I refuse to play fighting games with anything other than a 1st party Sony pad. I also refuse to play any other genre with said controller, unless thereās not a choice, like Horizon. So I need both.
Other caveats are disc drives. For the millionth time - if I canāt sell my games, I have no need for a console or to pay $60 game. Iāll go to PC. Either system does away with disc, no deal. You wanna get me out of a disc, and case, you better be charging 40 max.
Also, in other new, I love XB1 BCā¦literally every game left on 360 that I back logged or might ever want to play again is BC, I mean including fucking Skate 3, and Amalur, games I wouldānt have expected to get BC. All I could I ask is that the XBLA games get made BCā¦I would love to have MVC2 and Origins.
I like to see the PS5 do something in between the Ds3 and the DS4, I like the DS4 build quality over the DS3 but lose the stupid share button and bring back real start and select buttons. Get rid of the speaker in the game pad as well. Touch pad can stay, and I know the light bar is going to be used for VR tracking.
Oh and fix the L2 and R2, you had them right with the DS2.
The PC version of FFVII also had One Winged Angel without lyrics for whatever reason. I donāt know if they fixed it or not but it was odd when I played it back in the day.
ha, yeah the terrible music in DQ11 was part of the overall hilarity when I was watching [via re-stream of course] olā ādarksfadilā play it. The battle theme music in particular is laughably bad, man
*editābut yeah, that Dragon Warrior[Quest] part 1 soundtrack was indeed The Shitā¦but it was the only thing I enjoyed about the game.
edit 2āhmmā¦yeah that reminds meā¦because Dragon Quest is such a big deal over there, that main dude from the latest one is a likely contender to be revealed as one of the upcoming characters in Smash Ultimate.
sheeeeit, this weekend starts off awesome with Switch-version Cuphead to get (I may do it later today) and Katana ZeroāIāve already passed quite a few areas in that; just passed the part where your target is a popular DJā¦even after killing him, you then have to get past several henchmen on the way out of there. Then of course I have more nasty stages to create in Smash Ultimateāooh, like a stage thatās a giant bloodied maxi padā¦ call it āThat Time of the Monthā or āBlood Wingsā somethinā like thatā¦or a scene where a person has committed suicideā¦ the ābad tasteā possibilities with that stage builder are exciting to think aboutā¦
Knowing WayForwardās usual art direction if they are given free reign, there is going to be some attractive female designs in this game. But then again, these games in the Kunio or River City franchise purposely go retro which WayForward does as well.
The cast of the new game is kind of boring tbh, but it seems like theres a bit of nostalgia factor guiding the choices. Iām hoping they add some of the more interesting characters but if that poll is any indicator, waifu pillow humping Japanesers and their brethren worldwide are probably gonna get their way. At least they picked Basara and heās pretty interesting as is Mina weapon-wise.
Kid Dracula has never been released outside of Japan until now. And rondo was just rereleased a few months ago with CV Requiem, this collection is more focused on the old school classicvania games.
