I just want to remind everyone that none of this shit matters, because until I hear otherwise from DangerousJ, I’m still motherfucking Michelangelo.
Saying you liked or disliked something doesn’t really mean much. Its all of the other thoughts that lead up to that yes or no switch that’s interesting.
So if you have a wild ass opinion on something, might as well explain how you ended up there. Specially if it makes you dismissive of an entire genre of games.
The problem is you try to straddle the line in presenting your opinions as authoritative. Taking he The Last Jedi example. The storytelling had some legitimate issues, but a lot of the special effects and other stuff were incredibly good. There were also some scenes visually made it close to the price of admission.
Pretty divisive film but its hard to say its “bad” in the same way Plan 9 from Outer Space or The Doomsday Machine are bad. Those last two are bad by all metrics. TLJ has issues but wasn’t shodily made. It isn’t Van Helsing’s theatrical release (which had boom mics in some of the shots).
So if you’re writing stuff, you may want to be mindful of “I really don’t enjoy those types of games” and “those types of game are bad”. Those are way different points being made. One is an actual personal opinion of your taste, the other is a judgement on the quality of them. The former is the latter bears some type of explanation.
I never got into the Souls games. I will admit I’ve never tried playing any of them, but from any videos I’ve seen it seems they are way too slow pace for me. Like, it takes 10 minutes for your character’s animation to complete when swinging a sword.
You lost you girl to the Savage Dragon.
The fucking Savage Dragon.
Cucked by a dude made by comics’ worst Larson.
Is this an invitation to talk about TLJ again??
Welp, you have until December 20th, 2019 to do it in the Star Wars thread.
No shit, is that the release date for Episode 9??? WORD!
That’s what google said.
Google also said to install Chrome to enhance my internet experience.
Google lies.
Has anyone picked up Sekiro? If so, what are your thoughts? I’m seriously thinking about grabbing it today on the way home from work. As I mentioned above, I’ve never gotten into the Souls games because the movent and pace seemed too slow for my taste. I always liked the concept of the timing-based attacks and defensive blocks and all that, but your dude looked like he was underwater.
It seems that’s something that’s way different in Sekiro. Judging from the vidoes I’ve seen, movement is way faster, and the grappling hook adds the much needed element for vertical navigation and stealth. That shit gets me excited, for real.
My girl has told me to pick a game for her to buy me.
That’s pretty much either DMC5 or Sekiro, at this point.
DMC5 is far more of an action game.
I am probably going for it, of the two.
We talked about it just before you made your first post about it AND we have a Sekiro thread. Some of us definitely have it lol.
It’s God tier, hard as fuck, blocking and deflecting is strong
No, Sekiro is just as much of an action game. There are no character levels. The only way your character gets stronger is by killing tough enemies. You can’t grind stats to overcome skill challenge
This is Chad.
He is tossing out SFA3 caliber dookin’s, in a Super Turbo damage output game, at this point.
Yeah.
But DMC5 looks way faster paced.
Sekiro looks deliberate as all get out.
Sekiro is really fast paced dude. It IS deliberate, but the better you get at it, the faster it gets. That part it does share with DMC. Main difference is enemies aren’t combo fodder and will fuck you up if you let your guard down. DMC focuses on attack options, Sekiro focuses on defense options.
Oh shit, there is a thread. Thanks man, I haven’t visited it yet. I’ll read up on it.
Its fucking awesome. Its hard as fuck. It is not Souls.
Why Super Metroid is bad
- Exploration isn’t fun
- Tight reactive controls are poor
- Graphics are disgusting for 1994
- Depressing mood is TOO depressing
- Finding new items and using them to get further in the game is a piss poor mechanic
I aboslutely love wasting time exploring, but I spent 30 hours in Hollow Knight and wasn’t close to finishing it. Think I found some new region at hour 25 and was ready to choke the life out of the game.
so…Just saying that some of these can drive people mad.
