i am almost finished with trails of cold steel 1 and the fact that I really like this game is amazing because while I am a really big fan of jrpg’s the core gameplay loop of this game is everything I despise about them fetch quests followed by persona 3 tower and after that interesting stuff happens repeat until end of chapter. but the world and the people in it are really interesting gonna have wait before I play cold steel 2 I can’t handle another 60+ hours of that shit again right now.

Because it’s likely that, that’s their only option at the moment to bring those games to the Switch. The RE Engine most likely was never designed to run on the Switch, and would likely take a lot of work to make it do so.

That maybe the case but given their track record. I’m inclined to believe they are just being lazy. I mean they literally got a below standard cart size for the Megaman Collection so that people had to download most it. You could fit the collection of 3DS cart. Their first Switch game was a tweaked HD Remix. They ported the MT Framework engine to Switch for the First person motion mini game USF2. Street Fighter IV was never mean to run on 3DS yet they ported it. If Panic Button can port Wolfenstein 2 to Switch I have a hard time believing Capcom couldn’t do the same for RE7.

VAMPYR— heh, sheeeeeit, so the bloodlust was just too strong to resist… just fed on and killed a priest, man… I got 5,000 exp for that bastard…hell yeah, man. I’m level 29 now…sadly it appears I’m close to the end though. Yeah my version of ā€œDr. Reidā€ is pretty damn godlike at this point, though certain enemy combinations can still be a tough fight.

Quick advise on powers/abilities— don’t get ā€œBlood Barrierā€ā€¦maybe it’s better fully leveled up but the level 1 version of this is so lame it’s definitely not worth the points…it last for 5 seconds but only blocks 1 hit.

*ah, yeah it appears I am at the final battle now… and damn this is kicking my ass for now…I might actually need to go feed on/kill some citizens to get significantly stronger for this.

Different engines. It looks like the RE Engine was specifically targeted for PC/PS4/XB1. From what we know, it seems that the RE Engine was specifically designed to use a lot of newer rendering techniques. The problem is likely that porting isn’t simply a case of turning these off and using older tech - the older tech likely doesn’t exist, or if it does, isn’t as well optimized.

Wolf 2 (and Doom) run on idTech 6, which is much more scaleable. I mean, sites like Digital Foundry were able to approximate Switch performance for Doom before it came out, simply by running it on similarly powered hardware, turning off stuff to get it to run at 30fps.

Sounds about right

Nintendo looking to do more partnerships like the Mario movie

Nintendo not abandoning single player games

Dunno why this was ever a concern

Um…the concept of loot boxes is inherently unfair EA…

Dbfz is shaping up to be a pretty good looking port for switch

There are some minor graphical things here and there that are missing and the backgrounds are noticably lighter but that seems to be about it

I just watched the recent Tomb Raider movie and that movie was fucking badass, and it made me realize I completely missed out on Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Anyone tried the PSVR part of this game? I’m wondering if it’s just some bs that was added on or if it’s an experience that makes the whole game better. If it’s just a BS addon I’d probably get it on X1 since I prefer that controller for games like this.

Definitely gonna snag it though now that I realized I missed it.

Quake Champions is a 100% free to play for the next few days on Steam/Beths website. I’ve been on the fence about it since reviews are a mixed bag, but there’s no reason not to try it out for free.

I picked up Ion Maiden. I want to pick up Dusk too, but for some reason it’s not on sale. Dafuq. They updated Amid Evil a few weeks ago so I should check out the new chapter in the campaign soon. :+1:

I’ve been playing Path of Exile of course. I’ll probably mix it up with some Ion Maiden or Amid Evil tomorrow though. I also picked up the CE for Tokyo Xanadu EX+ Alpha for 1/4th what it originally cost here. Pics tomorrow if I’m not lazy. :ok_hand:

Never played the VR thing but it’s playable in classic third-person view on other platforms so technically nobody’s missing out on anything.

Well I’d say anyone who has played RE7 and not played it in VR is definitely missing out even though you can play it in classic first-person view on every platform, which is why I’m wondering if it’s something like that or just something tacked on. From what I was reading, it sounds like it’s just an after thought and like a 30 minute level you are exploring the mansion in VR. Sounds pretty lame.

Crunchyroll is on steam. you can buy an entire season of a show for around 10 bucks.

As long as it’s rock-solid and stable 60fps the rest is irrelevant
