MK3 is more of a crisis.
There’s no time travel or anything in MK3. Iirc MK3 is about Shao Kahn saying “fuck the rules. I have money!” And circumventing the elder gods and the rules of mortal kombat by forcibly invading earth realm. The portals they forcibly open also cause earth realm and outworld to merge which causes catastrophic events and millions of deaths.

Ok you guys definition makes sense, I was just thinking dark future with tech stuff like cyborgs and resistance types against oppression. The lack of time travel does remove it from DoFP comparison.

Fighting EX Layer is my favorite fighting game since the 90’s and PS2 era.
