You can break the doors down instead of spending your cells at prior levels. I wish I had known that earlier as well.

What the fuck for real? I could have SWORN I tried to open one and it said ā€œyou have to use all of your cells here before openingā€ … but then again, I don’t think I ever TRIED to break them down, because that was the first time I got there. Well shit, that changes stuff. I never have issues getting to and beating the concierge dude.

Finally finished DQ11 last night. Clocked in at 115 hrs. Game was awesome. I haven’t felt like wanting to replay a rpg right after beating it in ages, but there’s other games I gotta play first.

My only gripe is I never learned how to remove some ailments and the fact that transferring items to each character is such a chore I didn’t care to do so. Most of the time I just toughed it out and wait for the ailments to wear off. Sleep and paralysis were the only two obvious ones, but there’s like beguiled and charmed and I have no idea what the difference is.

Yeah, I didn’t know that you can break down the door until the game was out of beta lol. It gets easier as you pour cells into the forge and you start finding higher grade equipment with better stats. Build up your gold as well so you can re-roll affixes on your weapons and support items to create some synergy along with mutations.

The Sadism mutation coupled with a tactics weapon that adds bleed and a tactics turret that adds burning (or vice versa) will really stack your damage output once you start building up that stat with scrolls of power you find.

Timekeeper boss (all other bosses in fact) does not have any resistance to being frozen so go ahead and bring any ice weapon or ice grenade you can lay your hands on. It can give you some breathing room to heal or move safely during the fight.

Last tip, DON’T GET HIT. I can’t stress this enough for the final levels as the enemies will mess you up on a couple hits and any legendary gear you picked up will be gone.

About DQ11 end:

Just checking but, did you actually finish it or did you just see the credits the first time?

Finish finished.

Ah ok, I’m surprised you finished it with only 115 hours, I haven’t finished the end game even at 130+ lol

Currently playing DQXI it’s pretty good man. I’m just after Puerto Valor, 35 hours in. I guess I still have lots left?

DQXI is very long and can be incredibly long if you do everything

What do you mean by re-roll affixes with gold? I think there is a lot of shit I still don’t have unlocked.

Oh and I randomly found a gardneres key on the second level (not the sewers, the other one, can’t remember the name) by stomping on the ground near the beginning. I had no clue shit like that was hidden around. Then I opened the one door, and there are 2 more locked doors that also need a gardners key. So fuck me there are 3 on the level, and I know one of them is out of my reach with what I’ve unlocked so far cause I can’t do the wall jump or whatever the thing is that lets you go up the higher areas.

Re-rolling affixes? tat you need to play Path of Exile dude. The crafting system in that game puts the crafting system in every single other game I’ve played to shame.

If you like RPG’s you will like PoE. I wrote a review on Steam and it got over a 100 likes. :sunglasses:

Path of Exile is the best Diablo game since Diablo II.

-It’s a 100% free-to-play and yet there’s more content and fun to be had than full-priced games in the genre.
-Actual build variety
-FAST gameplay if you want to build your character that way. Characters are actually mobile unlike other recent action RPG’s where your mobility skills are tied to a cooldown(seriously what the hell.)
-Depth around every corner. Potions just heal your health or mana in other action RPG’s. In this game…potions can have their own unique effect. They can add to your damage, remove elemental effects you were struck with, they can add to defense and more. Hell, there’s even a magic find potion!
-Amazing combat with 99% of your skills not being tied to cooldowns like they are in other recent action RPG’s. The game knows its roots and having cooldowns on your most fun skills is not fun and makes other recent action RPG’s feel like lite MMO’s or some kind of funky RTS.
-Great graphics with an artstyle that is like a combination of Diablo II and the Dark Souls series.
-An interesting story if you’re into that sort of thing with some really good voice acting.
-The game regularly gets new content every ~3 months or so, as well as new ā€œleaguesā€ that are like mini expansions. Sometimes they even update the game with full-fledged expansions that add a ton of content to the game. All of this at the cost of FREE.

I’ve sunk 1000’s and 1000’s of hours into this game just like I did with Diablo II and I’m still having fun. Most of my playtime was done on the stand-alone launcher from their website. I recently downloaded the Steam version since I had some money sittng my wallet so I could toss these guys some support for giving me 1000’s of hours of entertainment with no end in sight!

If you enjoy action RPG’s like Diablo, Dungeon Siege, Titan’s Quest/Grim Dawn, Champions of Norrath, Torchlight etc. etc. you will absolutely love this game. It’s taken Diablo II’s spot as my absolute all-time favorite action RPG. I also believe if you like RPG’s in general you will love this game.

This is also a game that becomes more and more rewarding the more you play it. The more you understand the mechanics and how things work, the more you can get out of your characters and builds and goddamn is it satisfying. I can’t recommend it enough and considering it’s FREE you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot.

11/10 111/100 on my personal Metacritic.

I don’t like RPG’s at all, sorry that you wrote that long post about em lol.

If you already reached the forge, you already have access to the blacksmith (short guy in a mask with a large bag behind him in The Collector’s room) where you can re-roll attributes of equipment such as +percentages to bleeding/burning/poisoned enemies; shoot grenades/arrows when you attack/roll or piercing on bows and turrets. Also, the quality of equipment goes from ā€œ+ā€, ā€œ++ā€ to ā€œSā€ and that takes a shitload of cells to say the least.

When you upgrade equipment, it takes gold but it’s worth it. Tactics equipment adds a scroll to tactics, brutality equip adds to brutality, etc. so just start with that and as I mentioned, the Black Bridge route is by far the easiest of them to get to the forge on a consistent basis.

Don’t worry too much about the keys. If you pass through the 2nd level (Promenade of the Condemned) you will need to fight the elite Undead Archer to get the Vine Rune so you can access other areas on your succeeding runs. Then go for the Ram Rune in the Ossuary via the Promenade and so on and so forth. Lots of grinding and running for your life abound. Good luck homie.

LoL the brevity alone of that reply is awesome. Sonicabid really likes his Path of Exile no doubt.

Yeah I’ve gotten to the forge, but I can only unlock that first one that requires 1000 cells. I have it at like 75 or some shit cause I didn’t know you could save em up. The other 2 (or maybe more) are all locked so I guess I have to unlock that first one.

So by rerolling attributes you just mean when you spend gold to upgrade the stats? That’s all I use it on and I typically just spam it on my melee weapon or the second one. But I basically just spam it until all my gold is gone, I assumed it just upgrades every time you do it. Have I been doing it wrong the whole time lol?

The first Collector’s room after the starting level has that small blacksmith in the next room when you break down the door and you just need to re-roll the affixes that would be beneficial to your equipment synergy.

For example, if you have a blood sword which causes ā€œbleedingā€ then you can try to re-roll your support equipment (turret or grenade) to get a +dmg percentage on that item. Heck, you can even stack ā€œ+dmg to frozen enemyā€ to an ice bow or ice blast to help your dmg output but just be careful with spending as the cost on re-rolls goes up exponentially the better gear you are upgrading.

Yeah, that’s the wrong way my guy lol
It doesn’t stack the upgrades, it just re-rolls the affixes and costs you more the next time

Hahahaha wow I had no CLUE that is what it did haha. But you always want to add the + I am guessing, if it’s available. Jesus I’m such a noob at this shit but I’m glad I am learning now.

I’ve just been wasting 10’s of thousands of gold haha damn.

No worries, I just scoured the internet for ideas and applied some of it to my game so now it doesn’t feel like a chore running for cells. The final levels are insane and getting the elite blueprints is a whole other thing so I hope you’re in for the long haul dude.
