That rumor has been around for months. People swear it’ll be Resident Evil 7.
Only reason the rumor is gaining traction (again) is because that faux insider thuway tweeted about it. Half these websites get their info from that fool.
New Tomb Raider wasnt BAD however it was amusing how they basically ripped the playstyle from the game that originally copycatted them. It was embarrassing. Just goes to show you the lack of innovation going on in the industry these days.
Then again we give too much of a pass to games these days so. Back in the day the streamlining and easy mode in a tomb raider game would have made it unplayable, but that kind of things is okay since new gamers have a short attention span and an even worse gaming mentality when it comes to figuring shit out and being a good player.
And I’m not surprised that Watchdogs supposedly sold well. Even though I think those figures are exaggerated it was one of the games people were waiting on, and even myself considered picking it up before I watched someone play it on stream for hours on launch day.
Man had good memories going to E3 2005 wouldn’t mind going again to walk into IGN Media office and steal a pen again. Then steal a goodie bag from a con goer who went to the MGS4 reveal party and got a cool MGS4 poster i have till this day.
Taste cancer having casual gamer scrub, you are the reason the game industry is in the state it’s in
Seriously though, I got it on steam last Christmas sale and still haven’t gotten to it probably won’t get to it this year lol although I am aware of it’s ludonarrative dissonance which is a big flaw to me, I’m still pretty hyped to play it eventually.
I didnt think Tomb Raider was a ludonarrative at all. Nothing you do affects or changes the story. Shes just a random person in the world going on around her.
And the fact that Laura should have died several times with no justifiable reason as to why she was still alive is bad storytelling. Shes more of a badass at 20 than she was at 30 something.
You’re misunderstanding the term ludonarrative dissonance then. It’s just a fancy way of saying that the game play of a game doesn’t match up with the story it’s trying to tell. Correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I understand the TR reboot story is a coming of age tale, showing how Lara goes from young, inexperienced girl, to battle hardened adventurer, and yet in the actual game she is killing countless people with ease from the beginning. So she is a serial killer the whole time while the story frames her a weak and defenseless woman slowly realizing her resilience.
i think you should play it before subscribing to this idea. yea she kills a lot of people but it doesnt come easy right away, and they make an effort to adress it without being overly heavy handed about it.
Games do kind of play themselves today, outside of battle scenerios. When was the last time you jumped in a game and weren’t 100% confident that you were going to make it anyway. there’s no challenge in the adventure anymore
After Watch Dogs and Dark Souls 2 massively misleading ad campaigns I think everyone is super sketpical of any game shown to have impressive graphics, but this is Remedy we’re talking about, both Max Payne and Alan Wake had better graphics than most other games at their time of their launches, so don’t be surprised if it does end up looking that good.
Remedy is simply one of the best developers around. Max Payne 1, 2, and especially Alan Wake are incredible, as far as cinematic shooters go they’re the reigning kings, so I was hyped as soon as it was announced…and then just as quickly crestfallen when it was announced as Xbone exclusive…then hyped again when I remembered Alan Wake was announced as exclusive to 360 too, so I expect a PC port or heads will roll :chainsaw:
Being a Remedy game I expect the following from Quantum Break:
-Badass, well developed protagonist that I actually give a fuck about
-Well written story and dialogue
-Impressive graphics
-Extremely tight and responsive shooting controls
-One innovative mechanic that will be appropriately milked for all it’s worth
-Most critics to praise it with a few dumbass “gaming journalists” to complain that it’s too repetitive
That trailer is for now the most impressive thing from this alleged “next gen”…than again the only competition it has for that currently is Sunset Overdirce
