There are more differences between 2 KOFs of any kind, 2 SFs of different series, 2 megamans, than there has been in pokemon in the last 16 years of its presence. Even 2 CODs and 2 AssCreeds are different enough to be called different games more so than pokemon.
If you wanna be picky and choosey about the meta and shit, than cod fans can do the same. NO pokemon fan can bitch about innovation and change when you’ve been buying the same game for 16 years.

-Addition of new typings
-Addition of hundreds of new Mons
-Addition of new moves
-Addition of new abilities
-Addition of multiple battle modes and game types
-Addition of stat changes, both to moves as well as Pokemon themselves
And a myriad of other shit. Those are just some of the MECHANICAL changes. You know, the changes you claimed the game never received in 16 years. The game can change drastically just by changing ONE of those factors. Your failure to understand this proves my point more than any amount of words could.

I’m sure COD fans can make a list just like this with more between games and tell YOU guys why even one of those changing changes the game.
When your a fan of a game that largely does the same shit as the companies you complain about, you lose the right to complain about them.
Hell, all of those changes are pretty negligible if you are not a competitive player or really deep into pokemon, so the same eyes I see pokemon with are the same eyes you look at every other game with.
I played the hell out of Pokemone red, yellow, green, gold, and pearl and they all played extremely similar to each other mechanically they were all used the same turn based choose 1 of 4 moves with a team of 6 format and the plots were all the same newbie turns into world’s best trainer has to get badges and shit
Yeah I’m bored of that, bring on Pokken figher, a pokemon ARPG, or a Pokemon Beat’emup, hell a Pokemon side scroller would be more fun and exciting to me than another turn based pokemon RPG.

But I have to say, why the fuck are you arguing for a game which you admit you don’t even understand the fundamental differences between each title? The minute you said ***“I’m sure COD fans can make a list”***, implies that you yourself don’t even know what the fuck you’re talking about. You keep trying to imply that being a fan of Nintendo (or Pokemon, not even sure anymore what you’re even arguing about) automatically equates to being a sheep who buys whatever shit the developer shoves into our mouths regardless of how different or not different the game is from its previous iteration.
Just because a game has differences that aren’t noticeable on a casual level (which, even in Pokemon, most of these changes ARE) doesn’t mean the changes aren’t there. This line of reasoning nor this example you’re trying to pull out of your ass makes absolutely no sense.
And orochizoolander, that is also a terrible example. Because according to that logic a game like Tekken 1 is literally no different from Tag Tournament 2 just because you use square to punch and X to kick in both games. Or because hitting another player causes them to take damage in both games. Or hey, I guess you could also say those games are exactly the same because the characters retain their movesets through every iteration, right? :bluu:

Strategy RPG- Pokemon Conquest
Puzzle- Trozei or Puzzle League
There’s even a couple of Pinball games and a game based off the Collectible Card Game…
No Beat Em’ Ups or Sidescrollers yet, but there’s quite a bit of non-traditional RPG Pokemon stuff.
…and you dudes are still incredibly wrong about the game mechanics, but I will just agree to disagree since you all claim that the Madden/CoD/AssCreed games “innovate” year after year…
At least Pokemon has the decency to take a few years off inbetween most iterations…

@ everyone getting salty over Pokemon I have no interest in that franchise or most turn based games, and Po I just watched some videos of the Pokemon Ranger and Mystery Dungeon games, they seem different than the mainline pokemon games, they really skew heavily towards the turn based RPG core of Pokemon and not really much action so not interested, thanks though.
I hope Pokken Fighter is a crazy ass game rather than just be Tekken 7 with Pokemon skin thrown over it, even if it is though it’s a refreshing use of the Pokemon IP.
I doubt they’d just skin pokemon as tekken. Pokemon where over 75% of the moves involve some type of mystical powers and shit.
Honestly, I think for the type of pokemon that exist in the game, it’d have been better served as a 2d fighter than a 3d one
I still fucking hate multiplayer pokemon. People that use Shedinja and Darkrai can go get fucked by a horse and die from internal bleeding. It’s like if you played marvel and everybody picked Zero/Vergil/Doom and played the game with input tools reducing the execution barrier to nothing.
The games are good single player RPG’s though.
