Video Game General 2.0: Yo Dawg I Heard You Like Remasters And Ports

Fuck you dude, you play on Xbox. Your taste is shit.

You might want to stay away from Aksys altogether then, Sonic .

And PC as well (#pcmasterrace). And now you’re gonna shit on consoles instead of genres. And with no real reasoning behind it… for shame, nigga.

You don’t think I do already?

I have a million reasons to shit on Xbox. I’ll give you a couple quick reasons:

RROD
Shit, unreliable hardware
Online paywall fees
Crap 1st-party games
Terrible community on Live filled with people like you.

It’s expected… I don’t hate overly anime-style games, so I rock with Aksys, ArcSys, and the like. However, even I have to draw the line somewhere. All that shit they’re putting on the Vita…no, just no.

I like that when and if a game is going with an anime artstyle, that they style it up a bit so even though you can see it was still inspired by anime, there was enough work put into the aesthetics to still make it look unique. Generic anime artstyles are really ugly to me. Star Ocean 4 is disgusting looking.

Old Breath of Fire games look pretty damn awesome. BF6 looks horrible.

I’m gonna rock Akiba’s Trip, Senran Kagura and maybe even Prison Girls. There’s no line I won’t cross with anime games.

@drwill439 Xbox hardware issues no longer an issue?

I’m not a PS+ member. I like having options and paying a fee to digitally rent games is not something I care to do. Discounts on *digital games is not something I care about, either. The online paywall is only enforced on PS4 and I don’t even own a PS4 because I don’t give a shit about that console at this point in time and its lack of an interesting gaming library.

Halo & Gears are terrible game series where games in their genre did what they did better before and after their releases. Biggest franchises in gaming?

The online community on Steam & PSN is overall way better than the community on Live.

Sonicabid sounds worst than me, and my excuse is I am the “hateful old military man who doesn’t like new things”.

I can’t truly have an argument with you because of the fact that my friends from back home are the only reason I have an Xbox, so I’m more biased for that side. However, you named only one specific issue with the 360, and its one that was generally taken care of. Also, servers cost money. The games I play online with my friends aren’t perfectly lagless, but it’s definitely playable. I think that paying a few bucks a quarter to have some fun isn’t too much of a stretch.
The other two statements are really subjective. People on PC are generally more mature than the stereotypical COD player, but in all honesty, its about the same. And Halo and Gears, while maybe not the best in their respective franchises, are definitely among the best, both critically and in the general public’s opinion.

The only way this could be rage inducing for him is if it was DMC related and he wouldn’t be the only one i can assure you that :looney:

And you talk about taste cancer

BTW, is ArcSys

You have to be a weaboo to enjoy ArcSys shit games and their garbage aesthetics. Even Phantom Angel, someone who enjoys anime, said that some of the games that developer puts out are so fucking ugly to look at that he can’t even be bothered with them.

likes old school shit

can’t be bothered with aesthetic issues

Got to love it. Funny thing is I don’t even like ArcSys games and I think you’re bitching up a storm.

You really don’t have to be a weab, IMO. I don’t hate anime, but I don’t obsess over it either, and yet I can still appreciate it for the core mechanics. Just because something looks different doesn’t always mean its the worst thing in the world. I haven’t heard you comment on how a single ArcSys game plays, but more on how they look.

Guys just ignore sonicabid he consistently proves over and over again he is an immature and insecure person who can’t handle the fact that other people think differently than him.

Instead of explaining yourselves to him just feel bad for him, he clearly had shitty parents who never taught him how to respect other people’s opinions. Then again at his age he should have learned that by himself a long time ago so piss poor parents aren’t much an excuse for his condescending and embarrassing behavior.

Nah, I ain’t mad. They can put out their own shitty IP games, I don’t care… I can simply avoid them.

But they have NO BUSINESS anywhere in the same zip-code of an established IP, and I will strike with Divine Rage if that shit EVER happens again…

Ninja Theory deserves a lot of the hate they get mostly, because of them being overly cocky and condescending during DmC development and then not delivering on the final product. You can talk all the shit you want, but if you can’t deliver than you end up embarrassing yourself and that’s what happened with Ninja Theory. That being said I think they are a somewhat talented developer, they just have different priorities than most of us on SRK. Heavenly Sword was a really solid game, the core rock, paper, scissors and counter based combat was satisfying and a nice twist in the typical action game, the graphics, story telling, and animation was on point too overall just a really good game.

Then came Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I’ve only played the demo so maybe the full game is much better, but I was instantly turned off due to the overly simple button mashing combat which was clearly a step down from Heavenly Sword, the auto platforming, andnthenscreen tearing. Definitely a shitty game, or at least shitty demo that made me not interested in the game at all.

Then came DmC. Everyone especially you guys on SRK became clouded by your personal biases and never gave this game a fair shit, all of you condemned it on day 0, there’s no denying that fact. I was turned off initially as well simply because I didn’t want Ninja Theory anywhere near my DMC like the rest of you, but unlike the rest of you I kept an open mind and didn’t jump to conclusions. I tried to be neutral until I at least got to see game play footage and play the demo which very few of you could manage to do unfortunately. When the demo came out my first impression was I liked the combat it definitely felt a little slower than DMC, but it was still fun and satisfying to switch weapons mid combo and I loved the art direction. That being said I hated the soft lock on as it would target an enemy close to me even if I was trying to target one farther away and it was way too easy to get SSS because the combo meter would only go up not down so it didn’t feel earned because it wasn’t.

The DmC demo left me with mixed feelings, so maybe one day I’ll buy it during a steam sale for $5 and play it with 60 FPS, but the fact that a DMC game was made and doesn’t give me the “I need to play it now” feeling is disappointing obviously. I hope DmC humbled Ninja Theory and they use what they learn from DmC’s development to improve their next game, because even if they’re a mediocre developer I do see potential to grow in them and the industry is in dire need of new AAA IP’s, rather than infinite sequelitis.

Speaking of dragons crown, its free next month on +

Why does everything have to be “AAA” ? Why can’t a new IP just be a new IP?

Also, lol @ Zoo passive-aggressively attacking people for being smart enough to know shit when they see it regarding DmC and the shit-tacular PR leading up to the lackluster demo and even more disappointing final product.

For the record, I actually did play the shit, so don’t be tossing out that “you didn’t play it, but I did, so I’m superior” bullshit.
No need to be neutral when the DEVELOPER HIMSELF comes out and insults the franchise and its fanbase and then ends it with "You’ll all buy it anyway…" all while that catfish-looking Capcom toady Alex Jones sits there yessirbossin’ like the tool he is.

FUCK TAMEEM.
FUCK NINJA THEORY.
FUCK CAPCOM.
