Video Game General 2.0: Yo Dawg I Heard You Like Remasters And Ports

I haven’t seen it yet to give an opinion… How can that show bad taste? I actually acknowledged that it is going to be dumb… I just want to watch it anyway. You know damn well you have those things that you know are bad but enjoy nonetheless. Guilty pleasures, no?

I’m not really a fan of the genre, no, but I’ll play damn near anything… This is probably why you guys don’t like my “tastes.” You’re too caught up on the things I like that you don’t, and you fail to acknowledge the things we share a common attraction to. Even mentioning stuff I don’t like doesn’t get me questioned as much. The thing is… I give EVERYTHING a chance. There aren’t too many scenarios where I’ll write something off right out of the gate, unless it’s along the lines of Dragon Ball: Evolution ( :wasted: ).

My issue with Dragon’s Crown is that the gameplay is too shallow for me, the game itself is repetitive, it’s boring, and it lacks substance. I really don’t know if that’s just the nature of the genre, which I’ve admitted to not playing/liking all that much, but it really keeps me from getting into the game.

Man, I need to play Division.

Nope, you’re not allowed to like everything, you’re obviously part of the problem.

If you don’t have the utmost refined senses and only respect the old school style of gaming, you’re shit and part of the problem.

That’s the way it goes.

No.

Oh…

2014’s Wolfenstein would have been a 1000X more enjoyable if it was less cinematic.

The game is at its best when you’re running around with dual automatic shotguns destroying everything in your way. The game is at its worst when it gets heavy on the cinematic aspect & story as well as when you’re back at the hideout doing fucking fetch quests.

The thing that kept me playing through the boring parts was the fact that I’d be back out there with dual auto shotties going nuts. The gunplay is amazing. The story and characters are pretty well done, but the pacing of the game is wacky at times when the game decides to get more cinematic on you+hideout shenanigans.

…Okay? I had no comment on Wolfenstein…or any FPS for that matter. It’s not my field and none of them hold my interest.

My own code is that if I cannot get maximum enjoyment playing alone, with no needing friends online, then I simply will not care. FPS games tend to REQUIRE that more often than not and the few that don’t like Wolfenstein do absolutely nothing for me.

Speaking of FPS’s, i have been hearing that the Metro games are good and i have the one that PS+ gave, but i wouldn’t be surprised that the ps3 version doesn’t do the game justice, so i don’t know if i should wait for the PS4 to drop or play the one that i have.

Just try it on PS3 first to see if you like it since you got it for “free” then pick up the collection later on if you do. The games are pretty good, they can be a bit slow-paced at times but the gunplay, atmosphere and graphics are all great.

Yeah I know, I just wanted to reply seriously to your sarcastic post.

Sad you don’t like FPS games.

Honestly, after ACTUALLY playing a frightening amount of Titanfall, I don’t know where the hate comes from nor the Call of Duty comparisons.

If we’re truly being objective here, the game innovated WAY more than a game like Wolfenstein did. Sure, Wolfenstein is still a fantastic game, but did it really bring anything new to the table that hadn’t already been done? Nope.

Meanwhile, I’m over here in Titanfall running across the sides of skyscrapers and ripping out the innards of giant mechs with my bare fucking hands. In a multiplayer, competitive, and immersive aspect. Once the naysayers can point me towards another shooter that let’s you do all the shit you can do in Titanfall, then maybe I’ll consider the notion that its just another recycled shooter. Overhyped my ass. :coffee:

My biggest problem with the game is the lack of an actual campaign.

While I do agree that the game was definitely overhyped, I can’t say that the core of the game isn’t worth it. It’s more justifiable as a 40 dollar purchase, but other than that and the campaign (Read: Multiplayer matches with voiceovers of the characters), the game we have is very solid. Bare as fuck, but solid.

I think the COD comparisons come from the fact that the core shooting mechanics are basically from COD because the developers worked on COD, iirc. However, every other aspect of the game makes it entirely different from anything on the market now.

Dragon’s Crown, like a few other beat em ups, isn’t meant to be grinded through in a week. The repetitive mechanics of the game told me from the jump that its one of those games you play on a bus ride or in a waiting room. It isn’t something like Mario, where you play that shit whenever. Eventually, you’ll get tired of DC if you play too long, so the only way to play is to take your time.

Listen, everything is guns.

That’s all i have to say.

You’re killing me Sonic lmao

destiny won’t dive as hard as titanfall because destiny has co-op, which hides a ton of flaws.

titanfall requires constant competition. titanfall doesn’t have multiple hooks to engage you. when nothing new is developing, the flaws in the game become easier to pick out and harder to forgive.

destiny has a single player, story, has loot, has free roaming and stuff to explore, and different classes with different play styles. and THEN it also has multiplayer.

they also set themselves up well to pivot and create content as needed. titanfall can only make more guns and more maps. and they have barely done that.

i enjoyed destiny beta a lot. loot is such a great way to positively reenforce progression, and while its not borderlands level of loot, its modest enough to keep you hunting for it. i don’t really care for the story or tyrion playing a role of something smaller than a midget, and it definitely isn’t borderlands… but its quite serviceable and looks amazing.

Yo. Im gonna say atleast from gaming sites this is probably the less trollish place especially when it comes to unpopular opinions. I just saw a nigga say Bayonetta game is trash, he said he thought the mechanics were cool but said the game overall sucks because Bayonetta is a witch with guns and that games with female leads are lame. Wtf and hes actually serious

I wouldn’t tell someone with a P4 AV that he has tastecancer , lol.

Sonic hates turn based RPGs with a passion. I wouldn’t put it past him to shit on Persona for that reason.

I actually grew up in the golden-age era of turn-based JRPGs(SNES era up to around to PS2 when they started to fall off.)

I used to enjoy the genre a lot, but the combat doesn’t do it for me anymore, and it doesn’t help that the genre has turned up the “animu” aspect making the overall characters & worlds of *most modern turn-based JRPG’s really, really silly. A lot of JRPG’s were inspired by anime, but it’s at a point now where your average JRPG is no different than your average B-tier stereotypical anime bullshit.

Modern Persona looks silly to me and I think the aesthetics are ugly as well. I don’t care to ever play those games, same with Catherine. Everything I’ve seen and heard from both games is unappealing as hell to me.

^ That’s what Breath of Fire 6 looks like. It looks generic as hell. :shake:

That’s kind of ignorant, telling someone they have bad taste because they like something you don’t. Maybe if he had said “I dislike Persona” and gave reasons why, I’d understand, but you can’t go shitting on other people for their interests.
