Video Game General 2.0: Yo Dawg I Heard You Like Remasters And Ports

Stop being dumb apparently the english language is “debatable” to you. The objective of the game is to shoot the environment so that alone defines it as a shooter, that doesn’t even include the fact that it is inevitable you will shoot and kill the opposing players who will also shoot and kill you to get an edge in the main objective of shooting the environment.

And Smash is a “fighter” because the objective is to fight each other what a crazy concept right! Sure the additional labels of party game or whatever else can also be attached as well, but whatever else you say about the game does not change the fact that it is a game about fighting other people.

Semantics+immature refusal to admit being wrong even when it is clear you are+internetz=PA…but don’t feel too bad that’s also 70% of SRK.

sigh

Why would I expect someone as simple-minded as you to understand a concept as basic as this… You see everything in black and white… I do not.

how exactly is capcom not trying new things with its fighting games?
Sf4 and umvc3 play very different from past titles

Sfxt is a new game altogether that plays little like other fighters (for better or worse)

I forget
People like to rag on capcom for everything and anything

Calls someone out for black and white thinking

Hi pot meet kettle

Are you really going to defend the company responsible for THIS:

Damn right they get ragged on after that bullshit.

I used that because it’s the most constant factor among games of the genre. I’m tired of explaining things to you guys… Either argue why it’s a shooter, or drop it. You’d rather play games about what I said with random, nonsensical comparisons than get your points across.

This isn’t a phenomenon new and unique to FPSs. This happened to arcade space shooters, platformers, fighting games, pretty much whatever genre that happens to be the hot new shit at the time.

Splatoon is a shooter. Yes the goal is to control territory by shooting paint around but you will have to shoot the enemy to slow them down or keep them from achieving their goal.

How is this different from playing capture the flag in other shooters where the active goal isn’t just to shoot the enemy. Does that mean Unreal Tournament isn’t a shooter? Come on guys everything can’t just be Deathmatch.

I’m surprised no one did a TC mod like splatoon for UE or Source before especially after that Digipen game called Tag came out few years ago, as for that Tag team they went on to work on Portal 2.

@S00perCam‌ it’s no use, when a person proves himself so stupid as to call the english language as it is legally and universally defined “debatable” and makes up his own definitions for words completely ignoring the existence of dictionaries you should know he is too retarded to understand why he’s retarded

Po Pimpus being biased and illogical as usual…yup nothing new here :coffee:

You guys can have it… Splatoon’s a shooter… A weird, unconventional one, but a shooter nonetheless.

Right?

A) shooting people in the game does net you alot actually when you shoot people and kill them not only do they explode your color inkand give you more control over the map they also have to respawn and that relieves pressure from your team so they can ink more of the map

B) shooters at high level are all about map control take quake for example most high level matches there are only 3 or so kills per combatant the entire game is spent fighting over resources on the map, halo is the same way albeit with more kills since you dont have the movement options you have in quake and when you get caught you have to work harder to get away.

So a game where you literally take control of the map is not so far outside of the realm of what makes shooters shooters from a meta standpoint

@orochizoolander‌

You, sir, can eat a dick. You’re offering nothing but ad hom to the conversation, not to mention it was pretty much decided before your bitch ass came in and started acting like a 3 year old. Fuck off.

Guarding that Mega Health/Keg and Armor/Shields for life.

Your character has a gun, which you need to manually aim and you shoot ink. It’s possible for said ink to kill the opposing player and they’ll have to respawn. How is this even debatable? The base of the game is a variant of capture the flag. Cover the whole map whole ink instead of taking control of certain points of the map, no need for additional spawn points as you can quickly move around the map by turning into a squid and traveling in your team’s ink. Cover the opposing team in your ink to slow them down. This screams shooter from the mountain tops.

Not sure if serious but…

SF4 is a amalgamation of all the previous SF titles but most notably it takes a lot from 3s.

UMVC3 plays exactly like TVC…so I’m not sure how sf4 or UMVC3 play differently from past titles.

The only capcom title which is legitimately "different"is SFXT.

Thank you. This is all anyone had to say. All the bullshit wasn’t necessary.

Is this nigga serious?

I already heard, noted, and accepted your argument. I just wanted to hear something that made sense from the other two.
