I also don’t get how it can combo. Will we be doing the CH with Ultra’s fr.dw motion and CH will get cancelled and not linked? Cause it cannot link that way it is a long animation, that CH, and the charge will die until it finishes. If it gets cancelled, why not put the same buff for U2?
Why would I feel the nerf especially when I’m predominantly an offline player and actually pay attention to my spacing? I feel it online because lag heavily affects my spacing and execution, but I couldn’t give two shits about online.
Its pretty rad that the CH nerf didnt effect your gameplay, but to me that nerf is why i didnt give a shit about AE

Unless there are ninja buffs to U1’s start-up or hitbox (or CH juggle time) this is the fix (my guess)
Because it would combo from a move that has ‘quick’ startup (14f, hard to actually react to), long reach, is safe on block if not done point blank and would do 464 damage without using any super meter. Don’t get me wrong, I would gladly use it…

So if you’re playing offline you don’t “feel” the fact that your only option after a blocked CH is to block? That you can not continue pressure in any way (frame trap with cr.LP, throw, etc?), lose all momentum and have to sit there and take their counterpressure because you can never be at a frame advantage?

I’m already having deja vu with this argument since I’ve had this conversation with (most likely you) several times now. Vega is still able to do more than block. You can still throw, a throw is still higher priority than a 3f normal, you will likely get teched, but this also means that you can STILL condition them into doing other things.
Sure you can get DP’d, but you could anyway before the nerf.
You’ve lost a frame trap ability, Vega’s frame traps aren’t 100% stellar compared to someone like, say Bison, anyway, so usually your options are nj, backdash (which there’s no point, youll usually be caught by a jab) etc
Personally when I went to Evo and bodied people in casuals I didn’t feel the nerf at all. And yes, I was playing decent players who were OS-ing me if I wasn’t careful, that were doing frame traps so I’d get eaten for accidentally tapping buttons.
But meh, whatever. My opinion is invalid because I forgot I must bow before everyone else because I’m a scrub.
I never wrote anything like that nor am I sitting on a “high horse”. I have not invested any real quality time into the game since AE is out because my priorities are elsewhere ATM. I don’t feel the CH nerf to the degree that it seems that you’re stating in text. It IS noticible, but it’s not like it’s nothing that can be adjusted to and by now should have been adjusted to. I was personally more sad about U2. You can still auto correct for anti-crossup, but 90% of the time you’re being crossed up at higher level, it’s safe.

Aside the fact that it’s not a pun and actually the truth in that I don’t actually care when it comes to online. I prefer offline and play offline when it’s available to me, which until recently was every month. I have actually not played this game, sans the day I bumped into you, since the middle of October because I don’t have the offline and online is garbage and forever will be garbage until my parents can learn to stop torrenting.

Honestly, I was debating with Cody being near the top this time. It’s gonna be weird this time around. So many characters got weird buffs that make you go “…why?”
Palm isn’t an overhead anymore which is fair and doesn’t really hurt his vortex that much, it still punishes focus and jump pretty heavy with another hard knockdown and acts as a safe demon flip. And after forward throw the double dash safe jump is gone, the cross tatsu after will probably still hit. Maybe there will be other setups after forward throw that work now, who knows, but I think the vortex is still pretty much intact.
And now that U2 does more damage after teleport and every Akuma will learn cr.MK U2 after seeing Daigo do it consitantly (which is actually pretty easy), he is in really good shape.
My predictions for Top are: Akuma + Sagat followed by Fei, Seth, Viper, Honda, Yun
yeah I guess I looked at those 2 nerfs being bigger than they are…
in that case my predictions are Akuma + Sim (A+), then Sagat(A), then Honda, E Ryu, Ken and maybe Yun (A-).
I expect Vega to be right smack dab in the middle at the #20 position (B)… 19 characters above and 19 below.
(actually I’d consider B being the lowest and him just sharing it with 19 other characters)

Vega will be alright in this game, as he has been in every SF4 game. He will never be the beast we want him to because to be frank, Vega with a few changes like chain cancelable lights and I frames and FADC on ST’s would be borderline retarded and Capcom knows this.

sky high buff? I’ll probably try it, although ppl can still crouch under H sky high claw, i would have seriously considered just using H sky high claw for trick crosssups where i use EX SHC now but i don’t think it’ll hit crouchers
Ultra 1 buff? Sweet and FP Yeah it’ll hit airborne, it’s a juggle state across the board. 100% juggle potential regardless of AA or ground. I’m glad it will actually hit on the way down now. Pretty tired of that thing being essentially a half-baked ultra
Ultra 2 buff? Agree with FP, shouldn’t have been nerfed. i’m not a fan of ultra 2 at all >:[
Cosmic heel buff? Sweet
Crouching hard kick buff? I guess this was trouble for scrubs in super so they made it less powerful? Not really a =O move at any rate… it’s still decent but i prefer the fact it makes vega small and move, not necessarily it’s damage
