There is a claw icon on the top right hand corner of the screen in the vframes app. You can tap on it to toggle between the claw and clawless frame data.
@Shack I’ve been using vega walkspeed+shimmy… My main buttons are st.lp, cr.mp…
They recovery fast as well, this is claw mode. claw cr.mk-cr.mp shimmy st.HP
Claw st.lp shimmy st.HP
Cr.lp shimmy st.HP
Use his st.mp when they are trying to over extend, on counter hit you get another st.mp. You can dash in ever so often when you have shown them they cant get in… protect that st.mp range at all times. when they jump they are in range for your AA, jump back lp, cr.HP etc.
If they are just sitting there use Vega fast walk speed + shinnmy with those same buttons. Lol when you’ve tag them a few times and they can’t touch you bec of Vega good buttons and and walk speed they will move. Trust me… Footsies always win.
My main goal right now is to find ways to land st.hp counter hit on a steady flow. St.HP counter hit as you all know leaves them standing also the best part, Vega TC will hit every time.
Once I accomplish that I can do the cross up CT, CA, Ex FBA.
Nice mention of MP-HK target combo after CH HP. And yeah, Vega has THE BEST walk speed in the game, so definitely use the shimmy.
Barehand HP seems to have a surprisingly huge hitbox, IMO. It also catches jumpers trying to escape your pressure and tags crouchers too. It’s really a pity it doesn’t have crush counter property… actually that might be OP.
Bro his clawless HP should definitely be a CC. Other characters have ridiculously easy ways of getting a CC where we do not… I’m salty as fuck… Anyway, I got some new technology.
After counter hit st.HP(clawless) the TC leads to an lk CT crossup on normal and back recovery too LOL… With a little timing, its a very nice meaty setup. If you need a perfect setup, do the crossup, 3 frame normal then cr. mp or st. mp. I would do cr.mp because on counter hit, that leads TC again, but if they are crouching, you’ll have to adjust.
If they patch this shit and make st hk hit crouchers it is gg time.
edit, I’m testing this on Ken’s jab which is 4 frames, but the same setup is working using cr.mk after the crossup as well, so it will most likely still work on 3 frame normals as well. I’ll do further testing, but check it out. It’s pretty sick.
**edit Got another setup. After a cc sweep clawless, do cr.lpx2 CT crossup, then cr.mp or st. mp or cr.mk. The slower the move you wanna meaty with, the tighter your setup has to be, so play around with it.
Also, in claw mode, the most damaging combo in a counter punish situation doesn’t start with a CC st.HK. st.HPxxSC, cr.MK, st.MP, st.HKxxFBA -> Izuna Drop does more damage than the alternatives starting with CC st.HK. The cr.MK after SC has a strict timing (well, as strict as something can be with a 2 frame buffer), so scrubs like me can’t land it consistently enough, but if you can pull it off it’s actually better and you don’t have to worry about the opponent landing in a crouch state from his reversal.
Your combo works with claw ON, requires one meter, and does 349/506 with Izuna Drop.
If done with slash + VT, it’s 380/506. Honestly, you’re right it’s the most optimum combo with Claw mode.
Here are the other options:
Claw off, requires one meter:
CC HK -> HP xx EX FBA to Izuna Drop: 333/455
CC HK -> HP xx EX FBA slash to VT: 390/455
**
CC HK -> MP-HK xx EX FBA to Izuna Drop: 350/454**
CC HK -> MP-HK xx EX FBA slash to VT: 387/454
If you have claw off and two meters (or one meter, one VT), then you can go:
CC HK -> HP (SC) LP xx EX FBA (slash), EX ASE (388/591) or VT (381/491).
For claw mode the highest damage combo on cc.HK is
CC.st.HK, st.HP xx stance change, c.mp xx EX FBA, Izuna drop 352/515 (It also has lesser hits so a V.trigger instead of izuna drop will deal slightly more damage)
Clawless actually deals more damage off a CC.st.HK… with
CC.st.HK, c.mk, st.mp, st.hk xx EX FBA, Izuna drop giving around 361/506
St.hp in clawless mode also open up some twirl combos like
st.HP (clawless) xx stance change, st.HP (clawed) xx stance change, c.mp (clawless) xx EX. FBA, Izuna drop 352/515
The double stance change twirl combo is not too bad if you want to retain in clawless stance and not worry about st.hk whiffing on opponents (due to some characters crouching after their srk)
Oh! Less is more, certainly. Your combo is not only easier, but slightly more damaging. The one I proposed still has a purpose against those pesky Karins and Rashids and the like, if you can’t bother to learn the stricter st.HK timing, but I’ll be using the one you propose from now on.
It’s actually 10% more overall damage… As well as 10% more damage received. Basically, once his mask is off, both players suffer a 10% defense penalty (it’s not EXACTLY like this, but close enough), so the round will end faster.
