well, shouldn’t you be playing with the Houston elites then?
great comp there, that’s for sure!
and add me; we should play on XBL!
and please no Vega mirror matches; they’re gay (yes homo).

That’s a bet, Houston S14
Back on the subject, Thoughts on the wall dive fake now that we had more play time with it?
I like it, it does work better then just holding back all these years and baits decently but I get fucked by the droves of Ken FP SRK’s and the RK Flash Kicks.
I hear talk (in this thread) of punishing wiffs with a good c FP, any other thoughts?
…that’s why i try to do less dives on them.
For Guile, you really can just stick to the ground and whore slide and c.MP to snuff sonic booms. If you Wall Dive, you’re risking a Roundhouse Flash Kick nowadays if both of you are near a corner.
Ken? c.MP and slide to snuff his fireball attempts. jumping on him now is even more risky with his DP. jab DP is still good (same like ST); strong DP has full invulnerability like Old Ken; fierce has more horizontal range and damages hard, as well as attacks on the first frame…beating safe jump attempts. he’s anti-air incarnate. i suggest toning down the jumping and work on Vega’s incredible ground game.
Someone teach me the timing to RH flipkicks -> Short flipkicks. I tried for like 30 minutes in practice and couldn’t land it once
DB, F~DB + Roundhouse, F + Short
right?
…i’m sad to admit i can’t do it consistently myself, lol.
lol. what is that?
inputs for 2 flip kicks in a row.
I always use RH flip kick for the second one, and for some reason am 100x better at it in HD. Dunno why.
I know to stay on the ground, but I was touching on what are the best options for punishment.
c.HP is fine and safe. It’s not like you’ll want to risk doing a c.MK x2,c.MP combo (which is probably the optimal punishment against a whiffed dp). I prefer to slide to set up a wall dive or roll wakeup attempt but to each his own.
idk if im reading that wrong or something…
charge DB, F+HK, again with LK. thats how i would put it
well, i know i use lk…
charge down-back, then push the stick to forward, then quickly bring to back to down-back and then press Kick simultaneously, then hesitate just a bit for that extra charge, then press forward plus kick.
punishing whiffs, like DP’s and Flash Kicks?
depends on what you want for positioning/spacing.
with charge: d.forward xx flip kicks *2 or just flip kicks
keep in mind that Ken and Guile has the new and wider uppercuts on the Fierce DP and Roundhouse Flash Kick; that usually gets them closer to you, so the flip kicks may whiff past them.
against their uppercuts, i’d just try to back up a bit, then slide to knock down. throwing is risky, since it’s like basically 50% if they start mashing on throw also.
Ok, so I’m pretty new, and only recently realized Vega works for me.
Forgive my ignorance and tell me, is there a reliable reversal for Vega on wake up?
Flip Kick is your best shot.
agreed, go with the slide. Can set-up a claw roll (wake-up), just make sure you to time it right.
Mycah, you played a good Vega; pretty solid, although you trust the s.roundhouse for AA when you could’ve gotten more damage from flip kick x2.
you play smart; good ish. nice playin’ with ya.
although, you play more reactive, then go on the wall dive shenanigans, it’s kind of telegraphed.
me? as you can tell, i whore the throws whenever possible.
…it’s to keep guys honest, and not hold down-back in fear all day!
fixed.
Are there invulnerability frames on the flip kick? The hit seems late, so that is why I have hesitated to use it thus far.
I’m coming from playing Remy on 3S, so doing 2x flip kick shouldn’t be too hard with a little practice on the timing.
you answered half your questions there; the initial frames are invincible… go to Training Mode and check them out…no blue boxes.
p.s.
happy day: i can actually do the flip kicks x 2 after all these years, rofl.
Gah, completely forgot about the hit box display in training. I need to take the time to go look at it. Thanks for the advice.
