Vampire Community Thread: GGPO Hitbox Overlay. Dustloop Tutorial #2 and Why You Lose To Me?

That’s what I did. I only played FGs at a casual level at best, then I discovered this game and just had the urge to get better and actually compete in this game.

But give it a shot, and see if you like it.

I never see you play anymore. But your AFK Savior game is on point.

Hey is there a forum that provides good information about VS?

This one, presumably. The Mizuumi wiki has info compiled by a lot of the American playerbase.

1st page has character run downs. What the character plays like, bnbs, notes about the characters like good normals, unblockables, pressure etc…

Thanks. ive been looking for this.
Hopefully now i can find a main :wgrin:

Stream is going live right now!! If matches are not up to par or you want me to switch to other rooms let me know. Also If something is going down in supercade I’ll log into that as well.

Better yet put a Daigo vs Sako in there, remember that Daigo won some VS big tourney on his prime on that game. THAT should be epic…

Just got raped live on the stream by tataki :frowning:

But the stream is a great idea, I need to start learning it again…

daigo would get murdered so freeeeeee. I even believe that our best players could probably beat daigo in that game. He dodged a MM against a US player @ SB4, I don’t think he even touches the game anymore.

Daigo is NOT the best player in japan. Not even in SF. Is daigo a really good player, fuck yes but I don’t think he’s been their best player skill set wise. Its just that SF is incredibly popular and their best players go underneath the radar because they play more technical games.

If you knew how tight the timing is with BBH in vampire savior then you go and watch sako play, your mouth kinda just stays open when he’s beasting. His ability to read, defend, rush, bait, counter hit\punish normals, movement and his execution is bonkers. He’s just on another level compared to daigo IMO.

You guys playing the sega saturn vampire savior?

No. Right now we are playing on the ggpo client which has is own special version of final burn alpha which plays the emulated version of vampire savior Euro rom.

10-28-2010- streamed a couple of matches featuring Tataki, Eksh, Myself, Gbursine, and a few others in the room as well as random xmen vs sf play (which I’m terrible at T_T).

The stream have a designated time?

Uh… I know I just said that It would be good a MM or exhinition between both. Yes I have many vids of Sako playin and he is sick. There is a tourney final between him and Nuki wich is very close and good.

Because I have been working 3rd shift for such a long time my body tends to sleep for a crap ton of hour. the hours are usually around 6pm-9pm (central time zone). Unless I don’t work that day, in which if that is the case I will go for longer.

stream is up right now. It will be up until 9:00pm.

** have to cut the stream short today due to work. Fail Catch you all tomorrow at the same time. Remember if you have questions about any character feel free to post them up on this thread or the thread in other games section. Till then.

I’ll allow myself to get blown up soon.

This isn’t exactly gameplay-related, but can anybody suggest, like, a common household item that’s both small enough to fit on top of two keyboard arrow keys (left/right + down) and heavy enough to keep them held down?

I ask because I’ve been getting the 2P dummy to crouch/jump by weighing down ONE key with a dead 9V battery on my desk, but the battery’s not heavy enough to hold down TWO keys at once for dummy crouch block.

I’m pretty sure you can map two directions to one key.

Even if there isn’t a down/right or whatever thing to map, you can just map two directions to the same button.

pretty sure you can do this but you still need something to hold the button down. I have a fishing weight that does the job perfect and if I can’t find it, my cellphone or tape work just as well.

I kinda avoid tape because you need to keep reusing it if its cheap stuff.

side note thats related: Push blocking is incredibly fundamental to this game, if you can’t do it properly ya gonna get raped. soooo, using this method is a good way for a beginner to practice push blocking w\o actually practicing against an EXP player.

as mentioned above, you can use the keyboard as a 2p function. You can turn the cheats thats located on page 1 and make sure the opponent has infinite life. Pick 2p as jedah and walk him into the corner. Make sure jedah is crouching blocking in the corner.

Here is where it gets kinda tricky. If you have an 8 button stick you’re in luck. You can map one of the two extra buttons to FP. Jedah’s c.fp is a 3 hit poke so its a great poke to practice push blocking against. With the 2p dwnbck input triggered on they keyboard, with a small weight ape\etc, you can hit button 7 or 8 to on your stick to trigger the 2p c.fp from jedah and immediately practice push blocking.

on a 6 button stick, you can’t quite use this method. Sometimes the start button is located in a good spot so you can use the start button to trigger 2p fp. If you have a 6 button stick with no start button or its in a weird spot. I suggest using RH as 2p fp so you can practice tech hitting.

with an 8 button stick, you can use all 6 buttons to push. on a 6 button stick, you can only use 5 button so there is some downside however for SHEER learning purposes, I highly suggest doing this for 2-3 mins until you get the hang of pushblocking. Usually doesn’t take players that long to understand how it works.

Every beginner I’ve taught this to finds it incredibly useful for learning the game. Not only can you practice push blocking but certain characters have great alpha counters and this helps building the muscle memory.

I tried Q-bee after playing you to better understand her, and I somehow ended up playing as her without the controls set correctly so i was confused for a long time. Her air dash is so weird/fun in the way it tracks the opponent. Her normals are abusive, too.
