Vampire Community Thread: GGPO Hitbox Overlay. Dustloop Tutorial #2 and Why You Lose To Me?

GGs to shoultz, blufang and Rithli over the last couple days. With more plactice (specifically comboing into Morrigan’s DI) I’m going to win damnit shakes fist

Anyone want to help get Vampire Savior into the Midwest Championships 2011 lineup?

We will do everything possible

Just picked up playing this game, will get on GGPO when I feel more comfortable.

On that same note, is the motion for IADing for Lei Lei 956 like in BB and GG or what, because I can’t seem to get it to work. I’ve seen match vids of people doing it real fast off the ground, so it doesn’t LOOK like they’re jumping and quickly air dashing.

Yeah I’m fairly certain just about everyone uses 956 for IADs.

lol, I totally screwed up your name :stuck_out_tongue: Were you that guy at Final Round last year on arcade cab playing VS? I remember playing against a guy from Kentucky that was doing well against everyone, including me…lol

@ Effay: Hey dude, when are you coming back to the darkside and loggin’ back on XBL? I’ll have to get some VS matches in with you some time

haha, Yeah that was me =x Nobody beat me the entire time we had VS in the cabinet. Then we had to pull it out for A2 or A3. Get on ggpo!

@ Kajoq: I figured it was you! If you remember, I was the Q-Bee trying to pull everyone in the world to beat you and probaby had a cup of drink if my hand XD Are you coming back again this year? I’ll get on later tonight after work.

Definitely gonna be there, and I’ve got a Supergun with PS2 ports now, so it will get a lot more play (i’m sure ill have ST and A2 in it at least a little during the weekend)

@Giffard: I suppose I just have to do it faster. Thanks.
@Jaguar: I’ve been on XBL some recently, mostly training my Viper in SSFIV. I’m heading back to college soon so I won’t be on XBL as much, but I’ll try getting on GGPO for this game (and ST).

If you are having trouble with IAD motions in this game, then luckily it has a shortcut that I haven’t seen in another game, which is just 959 (uf, uf).
Its super easy on the P2 side, and requires a little bit of practice on the P1 side depending on how you hold a stick, but I find it to be far more comfortable for such a fast-paced game, even though I can do traditional IAD inputs just fine.

That’s actually real good to know for if I ever decide not to play Squatch (I’m AV commited and all). I want to say shoutouts to anyone I’ve ever played this game in, I swear you guys have the best community.

I’ll have to try that thanks.

Hmm, I’m hopefully going to figure out how to get on GGPO soon, but before I do I was wondering how Q-Bee would be as a beginner’s character.

I heard that Talbain is the easiest of the cast to learn to play effectively, but Q-Bee holds more interest for me with her mix-ups, good normals, and wake up game (Please correct me if I’m wrong, those just look like strong parts of her game.)

Basically I’m asking if somebody can give me a few tips for decent Q-Bee play. xD I hope it’s ok to ask.

bee is like the only character I really know and the ONLY technical input you truly need is upleft x2 or upright x2, the IAD input. That input really needs to be mastered so you can play the character to her max potential.

combos, c.lk, c.mp, c.mk
c.lk, c.mp, c.rh
c.lk, hcf+pp

those are ones you really need as a beginner, all pretty easy. You can follow up with those after iads and basic jump ins.

AA normals, c.fp on 1st hit, s.mp, s.mk, s.rh, c.rh, jupbck 7-10 frames off the ground aka chicken guard, dark force. c.fp on 1st hit is her best AA but it won’t win alllll the time. When it starts losing, you can switch to chicken guard cause you can air dash after it in the air. Kind of a weird concept. Your opponents jump in turns into your mixup, it can immediately reverse the rolls of offense\dedfense. s.mp\s.mk\s.rh all can be used as AA as you’re dashing. Say you’re in a spot where the opponent keeps beating your AA range, well you can dash back\fwd to tip with your AA then and get better hit box placement. Off the pokes for AA, I usually open an iad followup mixup game until they start countering, then counter that. You always establish though.

on hit, learn the range on c.rh and use that whenever possible in your enders that don’t require bar. It causes a knock down where she has a guaranteed follow up for free. A bnb leads into a free mixup every time. the HCF+pp ender does AWESOME life and if you’re in the corner, it will swing the opponent in the corner. After the c.mk enders, I think it ends in like +1 or +2. It doesn’t knock down but you always get a follow up. If they stay still, I just IAD again for 50\50. If they jump, you can go air to air and win or stuff them early before they jump with low AA’s. If they retaliate with pokes on the ground, you can space and counter hit or jump up. Most normals will miss jump up right there and you can just do a basic air dash for pressure\punish. Say you jump and the opponent doesn’t throw a poke, you can do qcb+lk to grab the wall and get away, you can air dash if you want for pressure, falling neutral air poke. When you utilize the whole mixup after the c.mk ender, its really broke.

Finally played on GGPO. I’m going to keep playing Victor, since I love him, but I really should pick up someone who can counter Q-Bee, because that match-up is horrid.

Sounds like we need some VICTOR MIRRORSSSSS.

Roughly how many points should I be getting out of Gloomy Puppet Show if my timing is good? It doesn’t look like the damage is worth it in any case, but I’m still curious. I’m pretty good at rhythm games but can’t really figure out this move.

SO down. Just let me know when. The next couple days are absolutely atrocious schedule wise, but yeah, pm me or something.

edit: double post.

Also, apparently my 500th post! How exciting.

i bet ur really good at gh and rb
