Try aulbath. You’ll need to get comfortable rushing down a bit, as no character is really so nimble you can entirely play keepaway (some can try though) - try Aulbath. Victor is too slow I think for your desires (I can’t comment on bulletta/bbhood, never played her) and he’s half QCF/DP motions.
You’ll need QCFs for supers for most any character, and DP for guard cancels eventually.
Aulbath has mostly back-forward charges (except you’ll need SRK+two attacks for bubble) and a fairly rubbish dragon punch w/ kick.
I did up all the backgrounds from Darkstalkers (the first one), kind of a big photoshop/winkawaks effort with all the parallax. They’re here: Fight-A-Base : Darkstalkers Arenas
idk what you mean by hi-res, like stick art size? but this is 1:1 with the game, you’d have to scale them up yourself. If you can find a scan of Darkstalkers Chronicles it’s got concept art for all the stages but they’re really sketchy and still probably pretty small unless its a massive dpi scan.
Just got done playing a few on GGPO. Gotta get used to the feel of this game as it’s pretty smooth and fast. Had a hard time getting Wolf’s flash kick out on a consistent basis. Also need to remember chains and not try to chain LK LK since at (with Wolf at least) it wasn’t working haha.
I’ve played this a few time before using Lei Lei, but Wolf’s pokes and chains make it easier to get into. Had fun and look forward to playing later in the week.
As far as name’s go, are we doing the ST thing because of name issues or is this not an issue seeing the limited fan base this game has?
I don’t think you need to worry about names as much here, because each character still has their own unique name whether it be Japanese or international. It’s not like Street Fighter where you could say “Vega” and people might not be sure whether you’re referring to Dictator or Claw.
Thank you very much for this!! What I meant by high rez was high resolution, meaning something that I could use as a desktop background. Still, the ones you posted are pretty to look at just as images.
Capcom really needs to reboot Vampire Savior/Darkstalkers. That’ll make me on happy black man.
So yeah, not really a Vampire Savior fan but dammit I do wanna play it again. Never got the chance to play it in my younger days due to the fact Street Fighter II overshadowed the series but I’ve been thinking about pickin’ it up. Is the Dreamcast remake of the original any good?
the dreamcast version has reduced hit stun on certain pokes which can really fuck you over and there seems to be some frame rate issues.
If you have an x360 stick, I suggest using ggpo FBA offline and downloading the cheat file to turn on infinite health, infinite meter and infinite time.
This game is very close to perfect and when you look @ capcoms current games, no game is as close as this one is balance wise. I don’t want to see this game get a reboot cause it might end up like HDR did.
Just started fooling around with this game some on Supercade. I think my days trying to be serious and competitive with fighters are over, but it’s a great game. Lookin forward to seein what you guys do with it.
What time to you guys usually play on GGPO? The majority of the time I join a lobby, it’s me and Karoj playing about and hour then 1 or 2 randoms, lol. I play Q-Bee, btw.
this game is going stronnngggggg on ggpo currently. Over the last few months, I’ve seen the room grow from less than 10 players a night to 20+ quite regularly. There seems to be like 20+ new players these days and a new generation of USA vsav players are slowly learning.
If you guys are new and want to play people on your level, this is an excellent chance to jump in.
early night time for GGPO seems to be the best time to get in matches with players from north America.
Well, finally got a decent internet connection so I can sit down with this game again. I’ll probably stick around and scrub it up in the room since it’s early in the semester. Though still need to AG faster or something. I get it out sometimes (when I remember to try it) and I see people AG pokes like cr.mk. I’m probably really slow or their mashing technique is that much better during block (it’s most likely both).
