That was an insane showing by Poongko. He has been training really hard as well lately. When that guy was streaming in recent times, he went on big marathons against really good players in endless.
The level of play at the moment is just retarded. Makes me wonder what other games would look like at high level with $100k prizes.
It was pretty surprising when Xian beat him 3-0, but then he destroyed everyone else. I wonder if Xian will do as well next time.
Don’t think you can be ready for every matchup all the time at this level of play.
Everybody is playing such sick Street Fighter, seems almost like a cointoss who wins tournaments among the best players.
What I wonder is what Daigo is doing. Dude wasn’t at a tournament for several month now (I think since TGS).
Has he been secretly training like a madman, is he on a vacation and just enjoys life?
I really like that dude and hope he wins Capcom Cup so I’m curious if he wants to quit pro gaming or if he continues and how strong he is at the moment.
Daigo does this sometimes, he did it too before EVO 2013 or 2014 IIRC. Starts saving up stuff and getting his links crispy af before a big thing.
Snake Eyez mentioned at UltraChen that he played him while he was in Japan and he’s “pretty crazy” so don’t worry about him.
Pretty sure Daigo will return to SF5 though. Or he always can go the Guilty Gear path and compete in that

Xian, Gamerbee, Momochi, Infiltration, Wong, and a bunch of others I can’t be bothered to list all use(d) her at some point.
That’s an insult. I’ve never seen Daigo do the same 5 things over and over, hug children and hog the spotlight.
The presence of GamerBee apparently causes equipment to randomly malfunction in top 8 matches.
…and shoutouts to Elena for having the hurtbox of a retarded octopus in withdrawal. Seriously, that was so dumb.
Oh well. GamerBee actually winning a tournament is nice though.
Elena has a fucked up hurtbox, true, however it was also clear Roy doesn’t have a whole lot of experience against the character.
Gamerbee NEVER blocks btw, people hammer on Kazunoko for that but i think Gamerbee is even worse haha. Still an insanely good player though.
Blocking is bad in sf4, not cause offense is so good, but because defensive options are stupidly strong.
Gamerbee is much worse than Kazunoko. He mashes jab or backdash, whereas Kazunoko is just annoying cause it’s like playing roulette, wtf is he waking up with? Can’t remember against who but recently he woke up with cr.mp and landed a counterhit.
I was watching a set with Gamerbee and Tokido, I think he only blocked twice in 4 games and they were both demon flip divekicks. The rest he repeatedly got caught by fireball or dp.
Edit: He blocked an ex tatsu too.
gamerbee goes on tilt though, i feel bad for the guy when he loses cause hes genuinely a really nice guy
Just saw the Gamerbee vs MBR replays.
Gamerbee’s Elena is completely legit. Very good execution, scored some dizzies and he even went for U1 and properly landed it in reaction to fireballs, although I’m not sure if thowing shakunetsu at mid range is brave or just nuts.
Gotta love the salt when tatsu whiffed and Gamerbee did manage to come back and take the round. Even when not paying attention to the french commentary, the “Capcom, please!!” is universal.
