Or more accurately, Ryu with stretchy limbs

Prediction time so I can brag if (when) I’m right.

1: Fuudo
2: Tokido
3: Gamerbee
4: Momochi
5: Itazan
5: Snake
7: Mago
7: Jayce

This is assuming I’m reading the brackets correctly tho, and the winner of Snake/Jayce faces loser of Tokido/Gamerbee and winner of Mago/Momo goes against loser of Fuudo/Itazan

I predict Tokido goes out early. Hope he makes me eat my words though.

Gamerbee beating Momochi in losers semis would both be awesome and heartbreaking since damn, he really was close to beating him at EVO.

Then again we all know Gief players are the best so GF’s will be Itabashi vs Snake Eyez

I say it’s either Bee or Tokido taking this tournament.
Momochi plays weird lately, Gamerbee is a fucking killer and Tokido looks hungry as well.

They choke so often, that I will almost never predict them to win a tournament with approximately equal levels of competition. Tokido beating Snake free yesterday was honestly a bigger surprise to me than Snake beating Bonchan (I think Bonchan sandbagged a bit tbh, snake beasted for 4 straight rounds against his worst matchup), since Tokido has only beaten ever beaten Snake like 2 or 3 times from the matches I remember. And even though the consensus is Sagat is Gief’s worst matchup, I find it to be wayyyyy more annoying to play against an Akuma/Fei that knows the matchup really well, mostly due to the fact that their better mobility and smaller hurtboxes make them harder to get a lucky hit on.

I like Tokido’s chances a lot. Going against Gamerbee first where he’s really comfortable with the Elena matchup and then potentially against Fuudo (who will probably beat Itazan IMO) would put him through to grand finals. As long as his nemesis Mago doesn’t make it through losers, I like his chances.

I just like Tokido and want him to win.
He’s much easier to relate to than other Japanese players simply because he speaks decent English.

Itabashi has really surprised me lately, he has been on a different level since EVO 2014 but lately his footsies and reads have just been amazing, shit like hitting a cr.LK without buffering and inmediately after doing another one but this one buffered to force the other dude to press buttons was something he would never do, he’s getting on a really good run just in time for Capcom Cup. He’s going to be a real threat.

Damn Jayce is good.
If he had started out playing super lame, he might’ve taken that set.
Cool player, fucking retarded character.

I’m not sure if I’ve been ever this bitter but WHO THE FUCK in Capcom staff thought Healing as U2 is reasonable idea? Pretty much one of the most fucked up, hype-killing and braindead ideas I’ve ever seen in fighting game.

Why Gamerbee prefers to play Adon against Momochi? Although that st. HK is godly, ironically Adon has lower damage output from neutral and having the same damage output as Ken sounds like a bad plan for winning since Ken can play the death from a thousand pokes game rather well.

Well this is no longer possible :stuck_out_tongue:

She had it in third strike.

My predictions were Japan 1-2-3. I was right. All hail JAPAN

Gotta say, both Itazan and Snakeeyez really got kind of screwed in losers.

Elena is prob a harder MU than Fei but Gamerbee’s Elena is hardly as good as Fuudo’s fei and Fuudo is SUCH a zangief killer, he always demolishes giefs.

Honestly I didn’t expect anything but Japan top 3, MU wise, number wise in top 8, and player skill wise only a couple of americans at the tournament can compete with Momochi/Tokido/Fuudo and MU wise top 4 were all bad for bad for the american players on top of the skills. IMO at least. The only way that it wouldn’t be Japan top 3 is if Gamerbee faced Fuudo in losers.

I hope Fuudo wins so Tokido has a chance.

3S doesn’t have HKD’s…

It was a super in 3S

Ahhhh damn, I didn’t even realize this but I fucked up. I honestly meant to switch Momochi and Gamerbee’s positions. Now even if Fuudo does run it back I can’t brag since it will look like I’m lying lol.
