What…? Momochi was up one round and had the momentum and then due to his own stick, he had to forfeit the second round…and you’re talking about Gamerbee being stripped of mental fortitude?
Definitely, after having to go the entire distance against Infiltration, and then the bracket reset and taking it to the final game I doubt he had much left to give at that point anyway. I am ridiculously shocked at how he was able to play at that level for that long, if you compare his round beforehand at that final round he was walking into a lot more and play generally a little fuzzy around the edges. At that point he’d fizzled out and wasn’t in the correct mindset for it, and I don’t blame the guy for it. I don’t want to take anything away from Momochi he’s the guy that got me into Cody and Ken and I had him as my EVO winner - I love the dude, but I don’t think it was a fitting end for everything that led up to it and it’s a huge disappointment imo. Everything beforehand was one of the best top 8s I’ve ever seen.
Why do Xbox achievement notifications show up on a tourney as big as this? That was distracting. Momochi doesn’t have a backup stick? What happens if the 360 freezes during a competition?

The pause basically reset the momentum for both players. It was a few minutes or so.
When they started playing again, Momochi, the one who hadn’t just played like a 30 minute set, was able to start up again faster than Gamerbee who’d just been through a dizzying gauntlet.
I do think Momochi would have won…maybe. He was up the round. Wish he hadn’t though lol, I’m one of those haters I guess. But he deserved every match he got and that’s the way the cards fell.

That’s happened to a friend of mine this year at GWC in France in March. Same stick, same issue. He was lucky because the problem pops up during freeplay. Is a well known issue of Razor Atrox sticks,mad props to Momochi because he keeps his composure after that. The removable USB cord definitely leads to this bullshit,ruining an epic battle. Momochi seems not totally satisfied after.
Luckily no, it seems like he only commentates on Asian FGC tournaments. But fear not, we’ve got Skisonic instead!
Only commentary I heard from Zhi was during the Luffy series against that Japanese Sagat player (apologies his name escapes me atm) Wizard and co. Picked out the commentary teams I take it Zhi’s style of jokes didn’t sit too well with them.
Plus I think Zhi was trying to find a waifu…
They didn’t each have a round before Momochi’s stick broke. Momochi won the first round, then at the beginning of the second, his stick broke. Per Evo’s rules, Gamerbee was granted a free round. AFTER the stick was replaced, they each had 1 round a piece. A replay would have benefitted Momochi way more than Gamerbee, he got a free round of of it!
Oh yeah…that Louffy blowup. Lol @ the doubters saying Santarou is a random Sagat and that it didn’t matter that he beat “random” Japanese Rose players.

Average wage in France is a little less than 24K per year and according to an e-sports winnings site he earned 28K last year and 3K this year.
That’s pretty much nothing when you think about travel expenses (maybe those are paid by the sponsor, then they probably take a cut from the winnings though), pot splitting etc.
These people are hard working motherfuckers and when you think about it, they’d probably be better off working at McDonalds than following their dream, at least financially.
