I’m the best player in a similarly sized city and my scene is on life support so I understand. Just saying most players posting are like nobodies in nobody scenes.
For 1 thing…sure this tournament has killers in it but when has jozhear ever really made a impact in a tournament outside his own city which arguably is very shitty considering lapchi is 1 of their top guys.
It isn’t just guys like tokido he loses against…he loses against guys like air and other top players in Canada. He lost to combofiend’s oni whom I think we can all agree is far from a heavy hitter. This isn’t to say he is garbage but he certainly couldn’t be considered a good player. I also have first hand experience against Jamie considering I’ve lost to him in all our tournament matches and lost to him 10-9 In a MM FT10.
In my view if you have been playing the game exhaustively for 4 years with multiple casuals/MM/tournament matches against top players with a character you practice enough with that you can write a blog about him…there’s no excuse for not being able to at least take 1 round of tokido when a lesser player like white gun was able to do it against fuudo.
Like damn I even managed to take a round of daigo back in the first Canada cup and I play shitty as hell on stream and in a tournament setting…there’s just no excuse this late in the game especially when other vega players have been able to place higher in tournament communities with actual good players.
You do understand that single match results don’t mean a lot correct?
Sometimes you take a round sometimes you don’t.
Sometimes you take a game, sometimes you don’t.
The sample size isn’t statistically relevant when you keep going back to whitegun facerolling as your counterexample especially. Getting one round doesn’t negate the last year of humiliating himself on stream.
So then by all means please refer me to a time when jozhear has won or defeated top players on the calibur of tokido.
I don’t seem to remember him being top 8 at evo let alone top 8 in the past 3 Canada cup events. If jozhear is getting wins off these guys he’s not doing it where it counts…unless I’m unaware of a major in which Jamie was destroying killers left and right.
Whitegun will never have a day that good in his entire SF LIFE. Teams Blahblahblah but thats way more relevant than a single round on a top jp player by a mile.
But yeah whatever I’m done, it sucks that his environment stifles him as a player
It was a team match meaning the ability to catch someone off is very likely…I was able to beat jozhear in a team match as well but lost to him in singles.
Also fun fact joz lost to Ryan later that night in a MM and didn’t even take a single round. It was best outta 3 as well…and I agree Canada does suck in general I’m not arguing we have hidden good players.
I initially said Canada had a very poor showing this year and used joz vs tokido as a example of that which is when I was told I was going too far…I’ve been simply explaining my reasons for the last page or so but whatever I don’t care anymore.
He should probably just stick to playing really hard platformer games. Hes a cool guy though, honestly he needs to practice more fighting games, hes always almost playing other things when he streams. Maybe he practices more before the stream each day.
So Jozhear is a bad player because he lost against Tokido… one of the best players in the world, that finnished 2nd at Evo. And Akuma is not exactly the easiest match for Vega.
Justin Wong also lost to Tokido…multiple times. I guess he is also a bad player.
Justin Wong has won and placed top 3 at major tournaments for the last decade…jozhear has placed top 8 for only 1 major tournament that was very light on top players (Canada cup 2010) and in that same tournament he lost to gootecks. It doesn’t take someone on tokido’s level to beat jozhear lol…he lost to marn’s Rufus for crying out loud.
There is a HUGE difference between some like Wong and someone like jozhear who hasn’t even proven himself a good player outside his own province. In the 4 years since jozhear has been on the scene plz tell me the majors he’s placed top 8 at and be top players he’s beaten?
Justin Wong has proven himself a top contender time and time again by defeating top players and placing high at major tournents…unless there were some secretly ran majors I’m not aware of I don’t recall jozhear ever coming close to repeating any of wongs feats.
I was being ironic.
Yes, Jozhear is not at Justin Wong’s level. Very very few players are actually at Justin’s level. In the whole N. America, maybe only 4 players can compare with Justin. And is a big maybe.
Jozhear is not the only one who’s playing this game for 4 years. Everybody is playing it for 4 years, including you. In the few tournaments Jozhear attended, he always performed well. He qualified out of pools at Evo every time he attended, and he placed top 16 at Revelations in California.
