Do they not allow them or are they just not on the consoles? Costume packs cost money.
Also Blanka Alt3 is indeed distracting, some other costumes make …stuff… more difficult to see,
and eg Seth’s Alt2 doesn’t change colour during Tanden and thus makes that move a lot harder to react to.
This tournament was a huge success in my book since I saw ChrisG lose and Bonchan win.
He just needs to play more consistently.
And traveling more would help. The issue isn’t Vega, and you guys calling him a bad player are laughable for doing so.
So you think that any character can compete at a high level and that a good player could pick Dan and win EVO? Do you see any Vega players doing damage in Japan? This character is nonexistent whenever I watch any gameplay footage from Japan.
I’ve seen reiketsu win a tournament with killers in it. shrug
So failing to place top 8 or in top positions for the last 4 years in major tournaments doesn’t make you a bad player?

It’s hard to top 8 a major that lapchi invites 16 of the best players in the world to.
If people think he is bad they should MM him at evo though.
If players like Tokido are your benchmark, there are like 20-35 players who “aren’t bad” on the planet.
Joz does need to improve. I’m not saying he doesn’t. That doesn’t need to entail switching from Claw, though.
While he’s a decent character, you’re right to say he has shortcomings. He requires consistency most other characters don’t. Including the ones who bitch about that factor.
I would say he requires more consistency than any other character, but the tools to win are there.

A very small number of jp tournaments are streamed and I don’t keep tabs on when I watched them.
And no I don’t, not consistently.
I think “looking better” playing a better character like white gun did by taking a random round shouldn’t be the incentive to switch though. If you actually understand the game at a high level you can tell that Jozhear is way better than he is. If Joz doesn’t have fun not playing Vega he shouldn’t switch.
I think people are playing armchair sf too much though. Would any of you do better vs. tokido? How many of you are the best player in your city with hundreds of thousands of people in it? It’s a hard environment to improve when you’re better than all of your competition and netplay isn’t viable. The few majors he can get to a year are his only chance to play talented players really.
BTW I think getting out of pools at a major this stacked is harder than getting top8 at some crappy southern or east coast “major” full of bums. I mean look at who DIDN’T get top 8 here.
thats what im saying. were talking about being a match out of top 16 in a tourney where 20-30 guys in it have a legit shot to win. to call that bad or to even be overly critical of it is a bit silly
There is 500 000 people in my city and the biggest tourny we’ve ever had had 20 people in it, it doesn’t mean much if i’m the best player in my city considering how crappy the competition is. You think because i’m posting occasionally on this board that i’m playing armchair sf, I post in-between ranked matches cause PSN is dead at night and I wait a long time in my lobby.
