Earlier I watched the stream with some friends online, so we didn’t hear the commentary well. I just watched some of the archives and caught Xiaohai vs Sako. They were completely unaware of why Xiaohai didn’t pick Cammy vs Evil Ryu. This was a runback from the Topanga Asia league where Sako blew up Xiaohai in the first half of that set with unblockables and fake cross ups. Plus Evil Ryu hits harder than Cammy, he practically kills her in two combos.
This doesn’t make Evil Ryu a bad match up for Cammy, but apparently he wanted no part of that again which is why he stuck with Yun.
Buy PC version, skin Akuma to look like Ryu, see if he really is Ryu+.
Ryu has fewer openings but better payoffs, plus Akuma is the aggressor by default because random fireball hits deal shittons more damage to Akuma than to Ryu.
